(Le Brassus) – Audemars Piguet expands its golf ambassador team with the appointment of PGA Tour rookie Xander Schauffele.
Born in 1993, Alexander Victor Schauffele, known as Xander, is one of the rising talents to watch on the American professional circuit. The young Californian, who represents the next generation of golfers, joined the professional scene in 2015. Over the weekend, Xander topped off an extraordinary rookie season when winning the TOUR Championship, the first rookie to ever do so. Earlier this year, Xander won his maiden PGA Tour title at the Greenbier Classic and finished T5th in his U.S. Open and T20th in his Open debut. There is a lot more to come for this talented young player who is progressively making his way to the top of the game.
Audemars Piguet demonstrates once more its commitment to golf by expanding its array of players who all embody the brand philosophy: “To break the rules, you must first master them”.
François-Henry Bennahmias, Chief Executive Officer of Audemars Piguet, commented: “We are very happy to welcome Xander to the family. We are convinced Xander has the game and mental strength to rise to the top. There are many exciting times ahead of him.”
Xander himself is “very honoured to become part of such an exclusive team featuring the world’s best players. I’m always giving it my best on the course and strive to become better every day.”
He will be in good company inside the Audemars Piguet golf ambassadors Dream Team with Ben An, Darren Clarke, Paul Dunne, Branden Grace, Emiliano Grillo, Henrik Stenson, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Andrew Johnston, Romain Langasque, Ian Poulter, Vijay Singh, Andy Sullivan, Peter Uihlein, Lee Westwood, Bernd Wiesberger and Danny Willett.
