(Hobbs, New Mexico) — New Mexico’s Rockwind Community Links has been rated as one of the Best New Courses of 2015 by Golf Digest. The heralded municipal course designed by Andy Staples was rated #7 in the magazine’s prestigious annual rankings. In just a few months since its opening, Rockwind has achieved significant national attention as one of the top new public access courses in the U.S.
“Being recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Best New Courses of 2015 is a remarkable honor and huge news for our community,” said J.J. Murphy, City of Hobbs’ City Manager. “The entire city is proud of this achievement which validates our vision and commitment to unite golf with other recreational opportunities at Rockwind for our residents and visitors. Our facility is a trailblazer in introducing the innovative ‘community links’ concept to the country. We anticipate that this recognition will attract even more golfers both in Hobbs and around the region to enjoy the quality golf experience here at reasonable rates. We’re only going to get better with time.”
Golf Digest’s course raters base their reviews on design variety, shot values, resistance to scoring, memorability and aesthetics.
