CASA Fundraising Event Featuring Popular Designers to Benefit Front Street Animal Shelter
(El Macero, CA) – Setting a fashion statement on the golf course was made popular by the late, great Payne Stewart who would don his golf knickers, eye-catching sweater vests and matching socks to the delight of golf fans everywhere. The three-time major championship winner made “dressing to the nines” on the fairways and links part of the sport’s culture in the 1990’s.
Early next month, El Macero Country Club will deliver its own fashion statement as the popular private country club will host its annual Ladies Fashion Show. Set for Friday, December 4, this year’s event will feature clothing from popular designers, many from the popular TV series, “Project Runway.” Designers will include Richard Hallmarq, Bert Keeter, Bobby Trendy, Melissa Fleis, Felicia Strati and Kombucha Couture. “This yearly event has become a real crowd-pleaser for our members and their guests and this year should be no exception as we will have notable designers participating who have been featured on network TV,” said David Knox, General Manager of El Macero Country Club.
This year’s event will feature “Fashion Capitals of the World” as these highly-respected designers will showcase some of their latest creations. Headlining the vast array of designing talent will be Richard Hallmarq. A man of many talents, Hallmarq is also adept in music and art, but it was his appearance on Project Runway that further solidified his reputation as one of the world’s foremost designers.
Bert Keeter developed a loyal following when he appeared on Project Runway Season 9. His vast experience along with his dry sense of humor and strong opinions, earned him the nickname, “Bertzilla.” Actress Allison Janney accepted her 2014 Emmy Award wearing a Keeter creation.
Bobby Trendy, who will be the event’s guest emcee is one of LA’s top interior designers. He made his mark working on the Anna Nicole Show while Felicia Strati’s Sacramento-based boutique incorporates European designs and fabrics from Italy, France and Greece among other countries.
Numerous vendors, including some local companies will also be on hand to display fine jewelry, assorted perfumes and clothing, including the new Greg Norman line. “Attendees can do a little shopping with our vendors starting at 10:30am in the dining room and lounge, then lunch will be served at 12 Noon while the Fashion Show will get underway at 1pm in the banquet hall at El Macero CC,” said Janet Arnheiter, Ladies Fashion Show Committee Member. After completion of the Fashion Show, attendees can resume shopping and mingle with the featured designers.
Proceeds from the Ladies Fashion Show will benefit the Front Street Animal Shelter of Sacramento. “We are delighted with our partnering of El Macero Country Club and their annual Ladies Fashion Show. Our Front Street Animal Shelter does far more than just care for lost and abandoned animals in our community. We strive to re-unite our four-legged friends with their owners and if that’s not possible, we make every effort imaginable to find loving adoptive homes for all of our animals,” said Gina Knepp, Manager of the Front Street Animal Shelter. “All of this money will go directly towards the animals and in many cases used for major medical expenses. We couldn’t be happier to be involved with this wonderful event.”
Some of the Front Street Shelter’s animals will be up for adoption during the Ladies Fashion Show. There will be opportunities to see each dog, speak to their current foster families and learn more about each dog’s personality and behavior. Another long-standing beneficiary of this year’s Fashion Show will be the Yolo County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.
