(NORTHBROOK, Ill.) – To commemorate the launch of KemperClub, KemperSports’ new customer enjoyment initiative, the company hosted the inaugural KemperClub Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on Oct. 20-22. The event, which consisted of 40, 2-person teams competing in a fourball format over three rounds, was won by the team of Glenn Daly and Vince Brunssen with a combined score of 216 (2-over).
With an opening round of 70 (1-under) on Old Macdonald, the team, both from Chaparral Golf Club in Seguin, TX, jumped to an early lead that was extended with a second round 70 (2-under) at Bandon Dunes. The pressure of winning the inaugural KemperClub Championship took its toll as the duo battled for a 76 (5-over) to hold on to the win.
In addition to winning the overall Championship, Daly and Brunssen were also victorious in the Bandon Preserve par-3 Shoot-Out in a 3-club alternate shot format. Contestants Brad Balbo and John Garigen won The Punchbowl Putting Contest in a 9-hole fourball format with a score of 20.
