Michael Putnam Wins Back-to-Back on Web.com Tour
(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Cleveland Golf/Srixon congratulates staffer Michael Putnam for winning the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Championship over the weekend, marking his second-consecutive victory on the Web.com Tour. Putnam, who turned 30 on Saturday, finished with a score of 7-under-par 273 to win by two shots at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Bethesda, Md.
After capturing last week’s Mexico Open to climb atop the Web.com Tour money list, Putnam increased his lead with a $108,000 prize for his latest win. His current season total of $324,234 is more than $132,000 ahead of his nearest competitor.
“It’s the second week in a row and I can’t get used to it enough,” said Putnam, who is the ninth player in the 24-year history of the Web.com Tour with back-to-back wins.
A PGA TOUR card for the 2013-2014 season is all but assured for Putnam, but winning the Web.com Tour money list would allow him to play in every PGA TOUR-controlled event next year.
Putnam plays a Cleveland Classic XL Custom driver (9.5°), a Cleveland Launcher FL fairway wood (14°- Miyazaki Blue 83X), Cleveland 588 Forged CB irons (3-9), and Cleveland 588 RTX wedges (48°/54°/60°), and a new Srixon Z-STAR XV ball. Putnam also wears a Cleveland Golf/Srixon hat, a Srixon glove and carries a Cleveland Golf bag.
