Fourth LPGA Tour Win in 2013
(Phoenix, AZ) - Players Towel, the preferred golf towel by Tour players featuring high performance microfiber waffle technology, played a major role in keeping dry the hands and equipment of the winner of last week’s Wegmans LPGA Championship held at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York.
For the world’s #1 player, this win was her second consecutive major of the year and with her victory she became the seventh player in LPGA history to win the first two majors of the season. Quite the accomplishment for the 24-year-old South Korean who in 52 weeks has gone from 26th in the rankings to winning six of 26 events and earning more than $3.3 million.
The rain shortened championship forced 36 holes on the final day with waterlogged conditions. The eventual winner had to endure a three-hole playoff until she sank a 20-foot birdie putt to clinch the prestigious title. She’ll go for her third consecutive major, and fourth of her career, at the U.S. Women’s Open in two weeks at Sebonack Golf Club on Long Island.
Patrick Le Vine, founder of Players Towel and former LPGA Tour caddie remembers the importance of keeping his players dry, especially when they were in position to capture a Tour title. “We couldn’t be more proud of this young woman and what she has accomplished this year. She is setting the world on fire with her amazing play and we are honored to know that she carries our product and depends on it week after week.”
In the past two years alone, Players Towel has proudly served the winners of 49 PGA and LPGA tournaments. Also, since 2010, Players Towel has celebrated wins at two PGA Championships, three U.S. Opens and two Masters.
Players Towels are sold on line at www.playerstowels.com and at leading pro-shops and resorts around the world.
