Olympic View Golf Club in Langford, Canada, has unveiled a new sustainability-driven master plan created in partnership with golf course design firm Lobb + Partners.
Revealed during the club’s 35th anniversary, the plan introduces a phased program aimed at improving course strategy, conditioning, and environmental management. A central goal of the initiative is achieving GEO Certification — the global benchmark for sustainable golf facilities — which emphasizes responsible water use, habitat conservation, efficient maintenance, and community engagement.
Key elements of the redesign include wider fairways, expanded short-grass areas, and the addition of new naturalized zones. The repositioning of hazards will account for modern hitting distances while maintaining interest and challenge across skill levels.
The course’s first phase of construction is set to begin in autumn 2025 with the rebuilding of the seventh green, designed to add variety and fairness to pin placements. The full transformation will take place over several seasons to minimize disruption and ensure long-term success.
