Leaderboard Golf Social Platform Launches on the Apple App Store

(NEW YORK)
— Leaderboard, a venture-backed social platform for golfers, launched today on the Apple App Store.

Leaderboard is a part of the growing trend of vertical social networks built around niche interests and activities like Strava and CommonStock.

“Golf lacks a true digital place of record for players’ participation in the game. There are a host of apps offering utilities and game-improvement features, but very few are focused on what I love about golf: competing against and sharing with friends. We see an opportunity to be the best app for creating and sharing amazing golf experiences” said Riley Pratt, Founder of Leaderboard.

At launch, Leaderboard users can wager on games like Skins, Match Play, Nassau, and Nines. Golfers can invite friends into a game, and the app automatically keeps score with official or estimated handicaps. At the end of the game, players can easily settle up via Venmo requests created by Leaderboard.

The app also enables sharing of games and scores to the Leaderboard feed. Users can follow friends to see their activities and comment on their posts. They can also generate shareable recaps for iMessage, Instagram Stories, and other apps.

“From the start we wanted to create a modern social app with a great user experience. We’re really excited to finally get it in golfers’ hands and get their feedback,” Pratt added.

Leaderboard was founded in 2021. Leaderboard’s investors include venture capital firm DVx Ventures, led by former Tesla President and Lyft COO Jon McNeill. The company operates out of New York City.
