(OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL) – An independent test conducted by Golf Laboratories of Carlsbad, CA, shows that Zero Friction Golf Tees outperform traditional wood tees in regards to distance and accuracy. Zero Friction is a maker of high quality, technologically advanced products for golfers worldwide, including the first and only performance tee to ever carry the PGA TOUR logo.
The Golf Laboratories’ servo driven robot is the industry standard for robotic testing of equipment. It conducted the test on June 10 using a Callaway GBB 2 driver with a 60 firm shaft.
Zero Friction’s 3-Prong Tee outperformed the wood tee in both distance and accuracy. Shots using the Zero Friction 3-Prong averaged 255 yards, compared to 250 for the wood tee shots. And on average the dispersion was 7 feet for Zero Friction and 14 feet for the wood tee, an improvement of 50 percent.
“We’ve known all along that our performance tees were at the top of the performance market,” said Zero Friction Founder John Iacono. “This independent test by the very reputable Golf Laboratories just confirms that for us. Our tees can make a difference in your game.”
Along with being better for your score, Zero Friction Golf Tees are also good for the environment. They are made from bio composite ABS & (corn-based) plastic, not wood, which eliminates the need to cut down trees. Corn is broken down into small pellets of Polylactide (PLA) that then becomes the building blocks for the plastic to make ZF Tees. Corn is re-harvested annually. For wood tees, a white birch tree takes 60 to 70 years to mature and 40,000 wood tees can be produced from one tree. A total of 2.8 billion tees are consumed annually in the USA and this requires 70,000 mature trees per year.
Zero Friction tees also degrade faster in the sun’s UV rays and in compost. They can also be broken down and recycled. ZF Tees are long lasing and can be re-used. Because of their durability, tee boxes and practice ranges are much cleaner as golfers pick up tees that do not break.
The average golfer uses 7 wood tees per 18-hole round versus a ZF composite tee, which is generally 1. Thus, you have a 7:1 ratio. That requires a lot of added purchasing of tees.
“So not only do our Zero Friction tees outperform their wood counterparts and are more eco-friendly, but they can also save money for the customers,” said Iacono.
The new 3” Turf Tee by Zero Friction places a divot repair tool into each tee and golfer’s hand that will enable golfers to properly repair divots. The 3” length makes it simple to manage tee inventory while providing proper universal height.
Inventory management is a key to most of the Zero Friction products. All the models in the popular and colorful ZF glove line are universal fit gloves that mold to your hand for a guaranteed fit. The true advantage of the Zero Friction glove line for retailers is that the universal fit means shops do not have to carry a huge inventory of sizes. Instead, the shops can offer a large selection of colors.
Zero Friction benefits golf shops with a creative selection of packaging, including the SuperTubes, which received the ING Industry Honors Product Ingenuity award for its packaging of color-matched glove, Spectra distance golf balls and tees.
Zero Friction also has logo capabilities including logo golf balls, gloves, and tees, which has experienced significant growth this past year. Licensed gloves and Supertubes featuring NFL, MLB, NHL and the top 20 collegiate teams will also have a dedicated section.
Zero Friction recently entered the golf laser rangefinder segment in a big way with its Zero Friction Laser Pro and Laser Pro SM products. And like most Zero Friction products, this one has a unique element that separates it from the competitors.
Both Zero Friction Laser Pro models come with a pistol shape rubber handle grip, making it very simple to get yardage for your next shot. Simply aim and click, and the exact distance appears on an easy-to-read LCD display magnified X6.
