(Monroe Township, N.J.) — Forsgate Country Club’s Frank Esposito, Jr., a member of its Teaching Professional staff, narrowly missed claiming his third New Jersey PGA Senior Section Player of the Year title for 2019. In a close race, only 356 points separated Esposito, 56, from winner Jim McGovern, head professional at White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, NJ. Esposito previously won in 2017 and 2014, and he was second in 2018.
Remarkably, Esposito also was a contender during the year for New Jersey PGA Section’s Player of the Year for professionals under the age of 50. He ended the season finishing 8th in a field of 134 players with points. Esposito also holds four state Player of the Year titles.
Considered by many as New Jersey’s best senior golfer, Esposito has played in PGA TOUR Champions Tour tournaments, competed in the U.S. Open and in two PGA Championships.
In 2014, he won the prestigious Senior PGA Professional National Championship. Esposito has a stellar New Jersey golf resume. He is a two-time NJ Open champion, a three-time NJ Senior Open Championship winner, and is a member of the New Jersey PGA Hall of Fame.
