JDPR to provide marketing-communications support for innovative, new integrative care cancer therapy program –“Links to More Good Days”
(GREENVILLE, S.C.) — Golf Beats Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving integrative therapy for cancer patients through the game of golf, has selected Greenville-based Jeff Dezen Public Relations (JDPR) to serve as the brand’s official PR agency-of-record. JDPR will support Golf Beats Cancer (GBC) with strategic planning, brand development, content creation, national-level media relations and social media services.
Headquartered in Santa Ynez, CA, Golf Beats Cancer has created the innovative “Links to More Good Days” program to provide a more complete option for cancer patients to manage their integrative care therapy. Developed by founder, Lee Embley, a Stage IV lung cancer survivor himself, to help combat the devastating effects of chemotherapy on the mind, body and soul, “Links to More Good Days” works with local golf properties to convert courses into “wellness tracks” where patients can fight fatigue, stay hydrated, improve cognition, practice balance, eat nutritiously and be social, at their own pace. At no cost to participants, “Links to More Good Days” provides cancer patients with access to a local golf club, equipment, clinics and a supportive social environment as they work towards full recovery. GBC “Golf Buddies,” an extension of the program, encourages participating cancer survivors and other golf club members to become Golf Buddies to encourage and motivate GBC Players to get out, walk the course and embrace an “extended family” through golf.
“JDPR has a tremendous track-record of providing innovative and successful PR programming to brands in the golf industry,” said Lee Embley, founder of Golf Beats Cancer. “Their understanding of the industry and their trusted relationships with many of the leading associations and companies in the game, combined with their insights into the world of PR, will help us grow our brand awareness among golf enthusiasts throughout North America.”
“When we learned about Golf Beats Cancer and the tremendously innovative and caring ‘Links to More Good Days’ program that Lee and his team are pioneering, we instantly knew we wanted to be involved,” said Jeff Dezen, president of JDPR. “We’re thrilled to begin this relationship with Golf Beats Cancer, and we look forward to helping Lee tell his story to grow awareness of the Golf Beats Cancer brand and the countless benefits ‘Links to More Good Days’ has for cancer patients and those in the golf industry, as well.”
