The event, titled the Magnolia Bluffs Casino Beau Pre Bayou Bash, will take place prior to the start of the second stage of Web.com Tour Q School. The event also takes place the same week as the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss., just a short drive away, providing those professionals who aren’t able to play their way into the PGA TOUR event an alternative championship event to compete in during the week.
The event will feature a week full of festivities, starting with housing opportunities for players, complimentary meals throughout the week for players and their guests, professional practice rounds and a player welcoming party Monday, professional practice rounds, pro shootout tournament, and proam pairings party Tuesday, sponsors’ pro-am and pro long drive Wednesday, before concluding with a two-day, 36-hole professional tournament with no cut on Thursday and Friday. Those wishing to volunteer for housing or to work the championship event or to participate as a sponsor can do so by contacting Beau Pre Country Club. As always spectators are welcome and admission is free to the public.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have such a special event hosted Magnolia Bluffs and Beau Pre Country Club and the fact that the event is so close to the Sanderson Farms Championship is a definite plus for professionals trying to reach the next level,” said Robin L. Waters, SwingThought.com Tour president. “Players can now come to Jackson and try to play their way into a PGA TOUR event and, if they are unsuccessful, they will still be able to compete during the week on a championship course with a top notch sponsor who is willing to do whatever it takes to give them a top professional event experience.”
