(HOLLYWOOD, Calif.) – David Feherty, host of the critically acclaimed Golf Channel Series, Feherty, was awarded “Best Host Talk Show” at the 2014 Cablefax Program Awards, held Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif.
Feherty – who also was nominated for an Emmy Award earlier this year for Outstanding Sports Personality – has interviewed celebrities across golf, sports and entertainment on his show, including former President Bill Clinton, basketball Hall-of-Famers Bill Russell and Charles Barkley, actors Don Cheadle and Samuel L. Jackson, and golfers Tom Watson and Greg Norman. Feherty originally debuted in June 2011 as the most-watched original series in Golf Channel history. All-new Feherty episodes return to Golf Channel’s schedule Nov. 11 at 10 p.m.
Golf Channel also was nominated in three other categories, winning Honorable Mention:
· Children’s Series or Special – Drive, Chip and Putt Championship National Finals
· Documentary Series or Special – Arnie
· Education/Instructional Series or Special – The Golf Fix with Michael Breed (Mondays, 7 p.m. ET)
Cablefax covers business developments affecting the cable, broadband and digital markets. The Cablefax Program Awards were created to honor the elite professionals and organizations committed to delivering great programming in 2014, and this year were presented before an audience of cable executives gathered at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.
