SwingThought.com Tour to Host First Guaranteed Purse event of the Winter Season

Minimum $40,000 Purse on the line at premier Florida host, Orange County National

(Myrtle Beach, S.C) – Orange County National has hosted some of the biggest events in golf including Champions Tour Q School and Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q School but none may be bigger than next week’s SwingThought.com Tour $40,000 Guaranteed Purse event.

The SwingThought.com Tour (formerly the NGA/Hooters Tour) will be hosting its first regular season Winter Series Guaranteed Purse event in the history of the 26-year-old developmental tour. The three-day 54-hole event will take place October 28 through 30 at the course named the number one public golf course in the state of Florida and No. 2 public golf course in the United States by Golf World’s Readers Choice Award.

The purse for the event will be a guaranteed minimum $40,000 but can jump to $50,000 if the field reaches 80 players. Entry into the event is $800 for SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series members, $1,100 for nonmembers who wish to compete as professionals or $295 for those wishing to compete as an amateur. There will be a cut to the low 33% and ties after the completion of the first 36-holes.

Players may still join the SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series for only $500. The top 60 members of the SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series will have the opportunity to compete in the Winter Series Tour Championship for a guaranteed $50,000 minimum purse. The Orange County National $40,000 minimum guaranteed purse event will be the 1st of six to be played on the SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series this season on some of the top golf courses in the Orlando area including the Shingle Creek Golf Club, Disney Magnolia Course, Red Tail Golf Club, Metrowest and PGA TOUR Latinoamerica Q School host Sun N’Lake.

In addition to the 3 day 54-hole event, Orange County National will also play host to a special one day 18-hole SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series event on Monday October 27th. This event is open to all SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series members, nonmembers, and amateurs. In addition to the first place prize check, the winner of the one day event will also receive free entry into the 3 day guaranteed purse event. Altogether there are 27 events remaining on this year’s SwingThought.com Tour Winter Series schedule making this season’s membership one of the most valuable of all time.
