(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Srixon and Cleveland Golf congratulate staffer Zack Sucher for his first professional win at the Web.com Tour’s 2014 Midwest Classic, held at Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate in Overland Park, Kansas. Sucher, a 27-year-old former University of Alabama-Birmingham player, battled windy conditions on Sunday before closing with a 1-over-par 72 to clinch a three-stroke victory with a final overall score of 19-under 265. He earned $108,000 for the win and jumped from 20th to fourth on the Web.com Tour Money List with $247,318, which secures his PGA Tour card for the 2014-2015 season.
“I played really well last week and didn't get it done the last two days,” said Sucher, who shared the 36-hole lead at last week’s Albertsons Boise Open but ended up finishing tied for fourth. “I'm headed to the PGA Tour and now I can finally stop worrying about it.”
Sucher currently plays a Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow ball with Spin Skin technology, a Cleveland Classic 290 driver (9°), a Cleveland 588® MT iron (#2), Cleveland 588 TC irons (#3 - #9), and Cleveland 588 RTX wedges (48°/52°/56°/60°). He wears a Srixon hat, a Srixon glove and carries a Srixon bag.
Sucher’s victory on his ‘Journey to Better’ comes after four top-10 finishes on the year, including his previous career-best finish at last week’s Albertsons Boise Open.
