Tee Times Still Available in Quest to Raise $1,000,000 for Wounded Warrior Project
(VIENNA, VA) – In less than two weeks, Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the largest owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts in the U.S. – will host the fourth annual “World’s Largest Golf Outing,” Monday, August 11 with a goal of raising $1,000,000 for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).
While spots have filled quickly at many of BCG’s 120 participating golf courses, tee times remain at several locations conducting the simultaneous golf event. World’s Largest Golf Outing is open to all players regardless of ability, and a USGA handicap is not required.

With nearly $250,000 raised for WWP and 6,650 registered players to date, BCG hopes to reach $1,000,000 from this year’s event, eclipsing a record-setting $735,000 and 10,000 golfers in 2013.
“I was in the Navy and saw, first-hand, the effects of front-line combat,” says Billy Casper, BCG namesake, Master’s champion and two-time U.S. Open winner. “We appeal to you to participate in the World’s Largest Golf Outing to improve the lives of injured service men and women, as well as their families.”
“Support for this meaningful event continues to grow and the amount of donations given by Billy Casper Golf’s loyal golfers to date is awe inspiring,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “In just two weeks’ time, the nation will see thousands of people come together to give back to our veterans.”
Part of event proceeds and all donations from non-players benefit WWP, the national organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors – some of whom will be playing in the World’s Largest Golf Outing. Teams are encouraged to raise additional funds to support the worthy cause; donations to WWP unrelated to event participation are made at www.worldslargestgolfouting.com.
“The outpouring from across the country has been amazing,” says Sergeant Robert Maier, an injured service member who survived two IED attacks and played in the 2013 World’s Largest Golf Outing. “The money raised does wondrous things for us and our families.”
All players are eligible to win a trip for four to the Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR, for custom club-fitting and other merchandise. The top fundraising team will win a trip for four to Pinehurst Resort (NC), site of the 2014 men’s and women’s U.S. Open Championships, to play the famous No. 2 golf course and stay at the iconic Carolina Hotel.
