(SAN DIEGO, CA) - Full Swing Golf Simulators congratulates Todd Gease for capturing The Tiger Woods Foundation Closest to the Pin Challenge Presented by Full Swing Golf, in partnership with The Tiger Woods Foundation. By hitting his shot 8.82 inches from the pin in the final playoff round, the 38-year-old from Alexandria, Minn. won the five-week-long event that kicked off at the Tiger Woods Invitational at Pebble Beach back in October.
"Congratulations to Todd," says Chad Coleman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Full Swing Golf. "By winning this unprecedented global contest, he gets the Grand Prize VIP Experience for two with a PGA TOUR Pro at the 2013 Northwestern Mutual World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Todd's VIP Experience includes round-trip airfare to the event for two; two nights at a top area hotel; an inside-the-ropes walking experience with a PGA TOUR pro pairing during Sunday's final round on December 8th, for him and a guest; hospitality in the clubhouse, photo opportunity with the pro, and an autographed gift item; and a pair of tickets to the Executive Club on December 7. The package is valued at $7,000."
Married with three children, Gease has enjoyed playing winter golf on simulators at The Bunker Indoor Golf Center for the last 15 years. "I usually play more holes indoors in a year than outdoors," says Gease. "I love the contests like this Tiger Woods Foundation challenge. For this one, I just stopped in to use my playoff codes. I hit the first one good but to the left by about nine feet. Then I rotated a bit and hit the second shot well. It looked good in the air, landed about two feet from the pin, and I yelled 'don't spin.' It actually spun a little towards the hole and I waited for the leaderboard to pop up and show the distance -- and saw it was nine inches. I did a Tiger fist pump. I'm really excited, and would like to thank Full Swing Golf and the Tiger Woods Foundation for the great opportunity."
The Closest to the Pin Challenge attracted golfers worldwide, and was a huge success in raising money for The Tiger Woods Foundation and its charities. "On behalf of the Tiger Woods Foundation and Full Swing Golf, we want to thank all of the players who participated in this exciting event," says Coleman. "This event contributed to a great cause, the educational needs of underserved children. Thanks again to everyone who participated, and we'll see you at the next challenge."
