(BIRMINGHAM, AL; MONROE, GA) - Fairways Golf has signed a three-year marketing partnership with Georgia Golf & Travel. The company was selected to assist in marketing The Georgia Golf Trail to international golf tour operators, to consumers of Fairways consumer golf brand, GolfThere.com, and act as an inbound destination management company for the Trail.
This new partnership creates an opportunity for The Georgia Golf Trail to leverage Fairways Golf's reach in the golf traveler market through joint marketing efforts and through advertising in golf related websites and periodicals.
Alan Hale, President of Fairways Golf, said, "The Georgia Golf Trail has truly marquee brand golf resorts in the portfolio. Fairways Golf's background includes 23 years in business and experience managing or working with trails from Alabama to Louisiana. Our team believes Georgia's Trail is being launched at the perfect time.""
Executives of both companies believe the partnership will increase travel to the state of Georgia and expand awareness of Georgia as an excellent golf destination. The Georgia Golf Trail's marketing programs draw attention to Georgia's challenging and beautiful courses while also driving business to accommodations, food service and activities in the state. Fairways Golf will provide an easy way for consumers to book multiple golf locations and also can assist international golf tour operators to learn more about how to get golfers to Georgia. The Georgia Golf Trail enhances that offering by contributing 16 world-class resorts with championship golf courses.
Doug Hollandsworth, Founder/President of Georgia Golf & Travel LLC, commented, "Our partnership with Fairways Golf is the next step in the evolution of The Georgia Golf Trail as a premier golf destination. Partnering with the largest golf travel brand in the USA allows The Trail to be marketed and seen by the core group of golf travelers that use golf packaging companies to purchase golf group trips and vacations. We believe the timing is proper and hope to capture golfers that have traditionally driven through our state to play in Alabama, South Carolina and Florida."
The Georgia Golf Trail offers an array of golfing options from the mountains of north Georgia to the breezes of the Georgia coast. Home to the world renowned Masters Tournament in Augusta, the state also hosts other PGA, CHAMPIONS and WEB.COM tour events every year. The year round mild climate means golf is a possibility at almost any time. Georgia also offers many historical sites, world class dining and attractions unique to the area.
The Georgia Golf Trail and Fairways executives believe the marketing partnership will yield significant, new business for the state. The opportunity to garner more exposure world-wide is critical to long-term goals.
