(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Cleveland Golf and Srixon congratulate staffer Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño for winning the European Tour’s 2013 BMW Masters at Lake Malaren Golf Club in Shanghai, China, over the weekend. The 33-year-old Spaniard shot a 4-under-par 68 in the final round for an 11-under 277 total and a one-shot victory, the seventh of his career.
It was an impressive all-around performance for Fernandez-Castaño, who trusted his Cleveland Golf/Srixon equipment to rank second in greens in regulation, third in driving accuracy and sixth in scrambling.
Not only was the win worth €851,346, it secured Fernandez-Castaño a spot in next week’s World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai and propelled him to No. 32 in the Official World Golf Rankings. He also jumped to No. 4 in the Race to Dubai and rose to the top of the 2014 Ryder Cup European Team standings.
“It’s perfect timing… Doesn’t get any better than this,” said Fernandez-Castaño.
