Golf Pride Sweeps 2016 Majors with Win at Baltusrol

(SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.) - Power management company Eaton announced that its Golf Pride Grips Division was the leading swing grip and putter grip brand played at the 2016 PGA Championship this past week at Baltusrol Golf Club, giving them a clean sweep of golf’s majors in 2016.

The #1 Grip in Golf claimed 10 of the top 12 finishers, including the 2016 Champion, who used Golf Pride swing grips and putter grip on his way to winning the Wanamaker Trophy for his first career major.  In all, 118 players competing in the year’s final major trusted their games to Golf Pride grips, with the nearest competitor having 20.  Of the 118 players who put their game in Golf Pride’s hands, 28 played the MCC family of grips, offering a proprietary hybrid blend of rubber and cord performance perfect for combatting the adverse weather that battered Baltusrol throughout the tournament.

“Over the past decade, 8 out of 10 PGA Championship winners have relied on Golf Pride, including the last 5 champions,” said Brandon Sowell, global sales and marketing director for Golf Pride. “It has been a rewarding season for our brand with all four new major winners relying on Golf Pride to capture their first Major. We were also particularly excited to see that Golf Pride was once again the preferred performance grip among PGA Professionals in the field.”

Through the 2016 PGA Championship, 80% of the top ten players in the Official World Golf Rankings trust their games to Golf Pride grips. To view Golf Pride’s entire line of products played at the 2016 PGA Championship visit www.golfpride.com.
