Sundog Eyewear salutes Louis Oosthuizen’s Genworth Performance Award
Sundog Eyewear congratulates Louis Oosthuizen on being the inaugural winner of the European Tour Genworth Performance Award.
The Genworth Award recognizes the top performance over the first quarter of the European Tour season in six categories. Sundog Eyewear Genuine Performer Oosthuizen finished ahead of some of the world’s finest players in this new ranking system with a high level of objectivity that is unique to the game of golf. The 2010 Open Champion had the highest combined rating in the six categories: 1. Total driving (distance and accuracy) 2. Greens in Regulation 3. Scrambling 4. Putts per round 5. Stroke average 6. Average money won per tournament played.
“Continuous improvement in performance is what we all strive to achieve in this competitive environment,” said the 2012 Africa Open and Malaysia Open winner who scored an historic Albatross at this year’s Masters. “In my experience, paying close attention to the Genworth Player Performance Statistics reveals where improvements in my game can be made. I’m delighted to be the first recipient of this award.”
On and off the golf course, Oothuizen’s sunglasses of choice are Sundog Eyewear’s distinctive Mela-Lens BENT model.
"Mela" is an abbreviation for Melanin, a naturally produced pigment that acts as a sunscreen protecting the skin and eyes from High Energy Visible light or "blue" light. Exclusive to Sundog Eyewear, Mela-Lens utilizes synthetic melanin to filter blue light and block ultra-violet light for the ultimate in protection and performance. The benefits are enhanced definition, superior clarity, and minimal visual fatigue.
Oosthuizen’s fellow Genuine Performers wearing Sundog Eyewear Mela-Lens sunglasses include Paula Creamer, Pablo Larrazábal, and Mike Weir.
The 2012 Sundog Eyewear line features 12 new models and the Paula Creamer Collection; Mike Weir’s Weir Golf Signature Series; Mela-Lens Polarized and Mela-Lens Photochromic models; and the complete Core Golf line.
