(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – The 23rd annual National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Golf Classic (NLEOMC), which will be played Oct. 30 - Nov. 4, 2022 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., is now accepting entries.
The two and four-person team event will be contested on the Grande Dunes Resort Course, Pine Lakes Country Club, Wild Wing’s Avocet Course and World Tour, four of the Grand Strand’s best and most popular layouts. Landmark Resort, an oceanfront property, is the event’s official accommodations partner. After a practice round on October 30, the 54-hole, handicap event, which is limited to 288 players, will be played on two courses each day. There will be an open bar happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. at Landmark after each of the tournament’s first three days and an awards banquet after the final round.
Entry into the event, which includes four rounds of golf, daily range balls, nightly dinner, open bars, a welcome gift and an awards banquet, is just $529 per golfer. Players can also add accommodations at Landmark Resort at a value price.
For the past 22 years, Dan Morphet, owner of Golf The Carolinas, has run the annual event, supporting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund in Washington, D.C. The fund is dedicated to telling the story of American Law Enforcement through exhibits in the Memorial Museum and honoring our fallen officers. The Memorial Fund helps maintain the Memorial Wall and Museum.
In 2022, the tournament hopes to raise $35,000. As a non-profit 501(C3) charity, all tournament proceeds go to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The tournament has donated nearly $750,000 to the fund.
At the heart of the tournament’s appeal will be the star-studded golf course lineup. Grande Dunes, home to five holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway, has been ranked among America’s 100 best public courses.
Myrtle Beach’s first course, historic Pine Lakes Country Club underwent a 2021 restoration project that included the installation of new Sunday bermudagrass greens and the overhaul of every bunker on the course. The “Granddaddy” is again one of the area’s most popular layouts.
World Tour, inspired by some of the world’s most famous courses, takes players around the globe in 18 holes. World Tour offers players the chance to “play” Amen Corner at Augusta National, the Old Course at St. Andrews, and challenge TPC Sawgrass’ famed island green par 3. It’s a unique experience that players love.
Wild Wing Avocet, designed by Jeff Brauer and former PGA Championship winner Larry Nelson, is renowned for the quality of its conditioning. Avocet’s drivable, par 4 14th hole will be one of the tournament’s most popular challenges.
