Men’s Club Raises Funds for Bloomfield Food Bank
(BLOOMFIELD, Conn.) – Wintonbury Hills Golf Course – the only Pete Dye-designed course in New England – recently raised money through their men’s club for the local Bloomfield Food Bank.
Don Tinker, president of the Wintonbury Men’s Golf Association, reported the association organized several club events in order to support the local community food bank. The men’s club proudly hosted charity drives in addition to “Big Break” type golf competitions to raise $1,053 in support.
“We are so honored and humbled by the local turnout we had for our charity drives and golf competition,” says Tinker. “The least we can do is give back to those less fortunate in the Bloomfield community.”
Opened in 2004, Wintonbury Hills represents Dye's first and only championship design in New England. The classic links-style 6,711-yard, par-70 layout is owned by the Town of Bloomfield since the course’s inception, this beautiful layout was ranked No. 1 in Golfweek’s “2019 Best Courses You Can Play in Connecticut.” The course is currently open for walking-only play and reservations can be made online only here.
