(COVINGTON, GA) – Bryson DeChambeau used the Bridgestone Tour B330 golf ball to capture his first PGA TOUR title, a one-shot victory at the John Deere Classic contested this past weekend at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL.
The 23-year-old carded back-to-back birdies on the two finishing holes to shoot a final round 65. He relied on the B330 to produce excellent distance and accuracy off the tee and superior greenside spin to give him an edge over the competition. Designed based on data gathered from Bridgestone's proprietary ball fitting program and validated by the top players in the world, the B330 series is engineered to deliver maximum results from tee-to-green for skilled golfers who demand high-level performance in all facets of their game.
“Heading into the back nine on Sunday I needed to go out and be both aggressive and efficient to put up a low score and my equipment gave me the confidence to do that,” said DeChambeau. “The Tour B330 responded phenomenally to every situation and provided the extra push needed to outpace the field and win my first PGA Tour title, as well as a spot in the 2017 Open Championship.”
"Bryson has won at every level of competitive golf and can now add PGA Tour champion to his resume," says Angel Ilagan, President and CEO of Bridgestone Golf. "He is incredibly discerning about his equipment and knows our golf balls give him the edge needed to compete at the highest level. Today's win further validates his commitment to not following the herd and instead playing the best equipment for his game."
The exceptional ball speed and increased distance provided by the Tour B330 is the result of a proprietary TOURcore, formulated for the best golfers on the planet. Excellent feel and spin around the green, as well as improved performance out of the rough, is a hallmark of the patented SlipRes cover.
DeChambeau also wore Bridgestone Golf’s new Tour B FIT Glove, which will be available online and at select retailers nationwide this September.
In addition to DeChambeau, Bridgestone Golf ambassadors include FedEx Cup champion Brandt Snedeker, Olympic bronze medalist Matt Kuchar, three-time major champion Nick Price and young phenom Hudson Swafford. Scores of fellow professionals choose to use Bridgestone balls without compensation.
