More players trusted Titleist golf balls, irons, wedges and putters than any other brand. The overwhelming choice of more winners across every major equipment category
(Fairhaven, MA) - The PGA TOUR represents the most demanding stage in golf, and in 2011 the overwhelming majority of players who competed at that highest level placed their trust in Titleist golf equipment. The ground-breaking Pro V1 golf ball franchise, first introduced to PGA TOUR players in October 2000, began its second decade on Tour by setting new standards for player confidence and success. Over 3,700 players relied on a Titleist golf ball on the 2011 PGA TOUR, more than six times the nearest competitor with 541. In fact, two out of every three PGA TOUR players relied on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball this season, and Titleist golf ball loyalists were rewarded for their trust, winning 33 of 44 events, eight times the total of the nearest competitor with 4, and three times the number of wins recorded by all other competing golf ball brands - combined.
Titleist golf clubs also found momentous player approval and achievement in 2011, driven by the revolutionary Titleist 910 metals line and new 712 series of AP, CB and MB irons. Titleist's counts in each of the metals categories on the PGA Tour increased versus the prior year and featured more winners than any other brand across all three (drivers, fairways, hybrids). At the AT&T National in July, the first week the new 712 Series irons were available, 16 players transitioned with overwhelming success. In fact, Titleist Brand Ambassador Nick Watney relied upon the New AP2 irons to win the prestigious event in convincing fashion. After Watney's win, four more players went on to capture PGA TOUR titles with 712 series irons. Titleist continued its consecutive streak of being the most played iron on the PGA TOUR since 2005, to go along with its PGA TOUR-leading 20 victories in 2011.
When it came to the short game, Titleist Vokey Design wedges and Scotty Cameron putters had PGA TOUR players covered. Players trusting the Titleist scoring clubs in 2011 topped the PGA TOUR in both player and win counts - again. Vokey Design wedges have topped the PGA TOUR in terms of player count and wins for eight consecutive years, while Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters have been the leading putter choice for more players and more winners for 14 consecutive years ... and still counting.
Seventeen Titleist full product line Brand Ambassadors combined to win 20 PGA Tour events in 2011. No other golf equipment brand enjoyed stronger combined counts across all equipment categories, and no other brand shared in as many winning performances on the PGA TOUR as Titleist. Consistency and superior performance from tee-through-green. Titleist. Golf's Symbol of Excellence.
