Star Golfer Turned Vintner Cristie Kerr Takes Cover of Wine Spectator

October 15 Issue Also Features Anthony Bourdain Tribute, Profile of Washington Wines and Great Values Under $25

(New York, NY) — With a professional golf career counting numerous achievements, longtime champion Cristie Kerr now has her eye on a new prize—making the best wines possible in the California arena. Taking the cover of Wine Spectator's October 15 issue, Kerr brings her tenacity and drive to her successful namesake wines.

"I've met few people more passionate about life, or wine, than Cristie Kerr," said Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator. "While she has achieved an extraordinary career in professional golf, it is her love of wine that has propelled her over the past decade and promises a bright future."

Starting with charity winemaking in 2009 and then launching Kerr Cellars in 2014, Kerr is thoroughly knowledgeable about wine, having studied with the Court of Master Sommeliers. Her hands-on approach to winemaking is evident in her close collaboration with winemaker Helen Keplinger, and her wines have shown consistent high quality in Wine Spectator blind tastings.

The October 15 issue of Wine Spectator, on stands now, profiles Kerr's transition to winemaking, spotlights recent releases from Kerr Cellars and highlights her golf career accomplishments by the numbers.
