FlingGolf Now Played at More Than 1,000 Golf Courses

(BOSTON, Mass.) – FlingGolf – the sport inspired by an intersection of golf and lacrosse has now been played at more than 1,000 golf courses worldwide.

Helping attract lapsed and non-golfers to the course and increasing accessibility for all, it’s easy for younger and inexperienced people to play while providing a new challenge for avid golfers alike. Requiring only one club from tee to green, FlingGolf removes the financial equipment-barrier typically associated with traditional golf. All courses are FlingGolf ready, as the game requires no modifications.

Operators have welcomed its inclusion, attracting a whole new revenue stream from families, friends, events and outings.

“We started offering FlingGolf in spring 2015 and it’s been worth about $40,000 in revenue per year ever since then,” says Brett Mowbray, head professional at Massanutten Resort. “We typically get an extra 1,400 to 1,500 rounds each year, played by all walks of life - kids, adults and seniors.”

“Reaching 1,000 courses worldwide is a very satisfying milestone for us,” says founder of FlingGolf, Alex Van Alen. “We have seen our incredible player community drive that growth, as well as many courses welcoming players and promoting the sport within their local communities. Just like snowboarding infused new energy and faces to ski resorts long ago, it’s great to see FlingGolf do the same at golf courses today.”

To date, FlingGolf has been played on public, resort, military and municipal courses in over a dozen countries, including every state in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Morocco, and several in the Caribbean and Europe.
