Golfsmith Opens new Peoria, AZ store

Golfsmith’s Weekend Grand Opening Giveaways Include Free Golf Rounds and $10,000 in Prizes

(Peoria, AZ) – Golfsmith is celebrating the opening of their new Peoria store by giving away more than $10,000 in prizes and 1,500 free rounds of golf this weekend.  The bigger, experiential store provides an unrivaled retail experience featuring more interactive, game enhancing technologies than other area golf stores.

The 21,000 square foot Golfsmith located at 7765 West Bell Road in the North Valley Power Center is double the size of the former Glendale location. The store is part of an aggressive growth strategy by the world’s largest specialty golf retailer. Golfsmith opened 10 new locations in 2012, bucking an industry trend. Almost half of all golf stores in America closed in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation.

“Golfsmith is a golfer’s paradise because we offer the ultimate interactive, retail experience. Our focus on custom-fitting sets us apart from other golf retailers and now we offer more of everything golfers need to enjoy the game,” said Golfsmith International’s President and CEO Sue Gove. “Golfsmith associates are experts in helping golfers find just the right gear to play their best.”

Golfsmith’s Peoria Store Grand Opening celebration occurs November 9, 10 and 11. When the store opens at 8:00 AM during the Grand Opening weekend, the first 300 people in line will receive one of the following absolutely free - a $20 Golfsmith card, a free two-pack of golf balls or one of 1,500 rounds of golf at the Legacy Golf Course. Customers can also register all weekend long for a chance to win more than $10,000 in prizes such as the newest drivers, iron sets, bags, balls, apparel and golf gadgets.  Winners are selected from a random drawing at the close of business on November 11.

Golfsmith has four Arizona locations, three in the Phoenix area and one in Tucson. Golfsmith offers a comprehensive online store at www.golfsmith.com. Customers can register on the site for special offers and updates on the grand opening by signing up for “E-mail Offers.”
