Golf Teams Employ aboutGolf Technology in Game Improvement

(MAUMEE, OHIO) - aboutGolf, producer of PGA TOUR Simulators and world leader in golf simulator and golf performance technology, announces the installation of a PGA TOUR Simulator at University of Michigan's golf training facility, for use by both the men's and women's teams.

Gifted by alumnus Michael Korybalski, also a partner in aboutGolf Limited, The PGA TOUR Widescreen Simulator, installed in October 2011, features the company's proprietary 3Trak ball tracking technology and scientific golf club data, as well as a full library of driving ranges and courses.

"As a proud graduate of University of Michigan, I enjoy giving back to the school," says Korybalski. "The gift of aboutGolf's world-class simulator was as a natural fit for the men's and women's golf teams, as well as aboutGolf, as this partnership brings out the 'Leaders and Best' of both organizations."

Located just more than 50 miles north of aboutGolf's corporate headquarters in Maumee, OH, University of Michigan has a storied golf program founded in 1901, which has since won two National Championships and 12 Big Ten Championships, as well as produced three NCAA individual champions and 15 Big Ten individual champions. The women's program continues to become a consistent competitor in the Big Ten and has been selected as a team, or individual, to an NCAA regional in 10 of the past 12 years.

"Our team trained throughout the offseason on the aboutGolf PGA TOUR Simulator and found it very beneficial being able to play different types of courses under a variety of conditions," says Cheryl Stacy, Head Women's Golf Coach, University of Michigan. "We also took advantage of the technology that shows the players exactly how far they are hitting each club. Our distance control with each club seemed to improve dramatically over the winter months by using the aboutGolf Simulator."

In addition to school accolades, the University of Michigan golf program has produced golfers who have continued into the professional arena, including Elaine Crosby, LPGA Tour member and two-time career title holder; Lion Kim, 2011 Masters competitor; Chuck Kocsis, nine-time Masters contender; Bill Newcomb, 1963 Masters participant; Justin Hicks, two-time Nationwide Tour winner; John Schroeder, PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour professional; and John Morse, PGA TOUR and Nationwide Tour professional.
