This Week at Salem Country Club, six Players, including 2016 Sr. PGA Champion Rocco Mediate, will Tee-Up the Only Driver to Feature Innovative Vertical Groove Face Technology
(Boston, MA) - The cutting-edge Vertical Groove Driver, in only its first season in the market, continues to surge on the PGA Tour Champions. This week at the U.S. Sr. Open at Salem Country Club, in Peabody, Mass., the driver enters competition ranked #1 and #2 in driving distance, while 6 players, including Vertical Groove Golf staff player, Rocco Mediate, will tee-up the only driver to feature innovative vertical groove face technology.
“To have six players, not including staff player, and driving distance leader, John Daly, who is injured this week, using our product in competition on tour, truly helps validate the performance attributes of the Vertical Groove Driver,” said Jeff Barry, Chief Executive Officer, Vertical Groove Golf, LLC. “This is just the beginning, as our goal remains to become the #1 driver on this tour, which features some of the world’s most competitive and accomplished professional golfers.”
Daly, and 2016 Sr. PGA Champion, Rocco Mediate, who serve as a Global Ambassadors for Vertical Groove Golf, have been instrumental in driving the performance message, as well as product demo among players on the PGA Tour Champions. Daly, who won the 2017 Insperity Invitational in May using the driver, is currently injured and will miss the U.S. Sr. Open.
Barry adds, “We’re disappointed for John that he cannot compete in the U.S. Sr. Open, especially as he is having a fantastic year driving the ball more consistently, while leading the tour in driving distance. We anticipate strong performances from the stable of players using the Vertical Groove Driver this week, and we are excited at the possibility of another win on tour.”
