Bridgestone Golf Congratulates Oklahoma, Vanderbilt on Standout Performances at NCAA Championships

(COVINGTON, GA) – Bridgestone Golf, the proud partner of the University of Oklahoma and Vanderbilt University Men’s Golf Teams, congratulates the Sooners and Commodores on their respective performances at the 2017 NCAA Championships, contested at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, IL.

Oklahoma defeated the University of Oregon to capture its second National Title, while Vanderbilt finished its season as the No.1 ranked team in the country and made it to the semifinals. Bridgestone Golf supports both programs with custom golf balls and is proud to help these student athletes maximize their on-course performance and achieve the results they attained during the 2017 season.

“This is what we come to work for every day, and that's why you've got to come out and practice every day,” says Ryan Hybl Oklahoma’s Men’s Golf Head Coach. “We give them the resources to be successful, but ultimately, especially in this game, it's on them individually to try and get as much as they can out of their own games. It’s been a long season, and it’s very gratifying knowing that we get to hoist the trophy.”

“I know we will look back on this year knowing it was special,” says Scott Limbaugh, Vanderbilt’s Men’s Golf Head Coach.  “This team played awesome and has so much to be proud of. It changed Vanderbilt golf forever and for that all I can do is say thank you.”

“These are two of the top collegiate teams in the country, as one captured the NCAA Championship title and the other captured SEC’s and No. 1 ranked team this season,” says Heather Arnold of Bridgestone Golf. “It is an honor to work with such well-respected programs who represent our brand in such a way. We could not be more proud and look forward to continuing to help them achieve their golfing goals.”

In addition to making it to the Semifinals and taking home the National Title, both teams left Sugar Grove, IL with an invitation to the 2017 East Lake Cup. Starting on October 30, they will play against two other top programs at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA where the FedExCup season-ending, Tour Championship is held.
