(OCALA, FL) - Over the past two years, JumboMax Grips have helped Bryson DeChambeau capture the 2015 NCAA Men's Division I Individual Championship, the 2015 U.S. Amateur Championship, and earn The Silver Cup as the Low Amateur at the 2016 Masters. This past weekend, JumboMax's new Tour Series Grips helped DeChambeau capture his first ever professional victory at the Web.com's 2016 DAP Championship.
DeChambeau emerged victorious on Sunday in a four-way playoff with a par on the second extra hole at the DAP Championship held at the Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood, OH. With this win, DeChambeau secured his PGA TOUR card for the 2016-2017 season and became the 15th player in Web.com Tour history to win in his first start. He's also now the youngest winner on the Web.com Tour this season at 22 years, 11 months, 26 days.
"Oh my gosh, it's amazing. It's beyond my wildest dreams. I'm just so ecstatic about today," said DeChambeau. "All these guys out here could play on the PGA TOUR no problem. It's just about getting it done, staying patient, executing shots, and that's luckily what I was able to do this week."
DeChambeau has been playing JumboMax's Original Wrap Series Grips for the past 5 years and just recently made the switch to the new Tour Series Grips. The JumboMax Tour Series Grips feature a deeply-textured, all-weather design for incredible feel and tackiness, and the performance better players require. The Tour Series takes JumboMax Grips game-improving performance to a whole new level.
"We'd like to congratulate Bryson on his first professional victory and say that we're very excited to see what the future holds," said John Mazzanoble, V.P. of Sales for JumboMax Grips. "We're honored to be a part of the history this young man is making."
