(BREWTON, AL) – The Country Club of Brewton, managed by Billy Casper Golf, was recently named among the “Top 25 Courses Under $50 in the U.S.” by GolfAdvisor, the trusted home for hundreds of thousands of reviews and recommendations for golfers by golfers.
The widely popular semi-private course 90 minutes northeast of Mobile, AL, ranked No. 5 with 4.7 (of 5) stars, besting thousands of eligible public and semi-private golf courses across America. To determine its top 25 list, GolfAdvisor assessed user-based reviews which rate overall value, pace of play, staff friendliness, course layout and conditions.
“This honor is especially meaningful because ultimately it’s the golfers themselves doing the rankings,” says Ryan Andrews, General Manager of the Country Club of Brewton. “Members and guests have a connection with our golf course and their glowing evaluations speak volumes to the amazing work of our talented team.”
Three of many rave reviews by GolfAdvisor users:
- “The course was a joy to play. The greens rolled well and fairways were in great shape. The staff was very friendly and accommodating … an overall great experience.”
- “Simply the tops. Every hole is different and well thought out. Don’t miss playing [the Country Club of Brewton].”
- “The course sits in a beautiful, natural wooded site. You can hear birds chirping and squirrels rustling through the trees. Course is in excellent condition with fast, smooth green … a great design; fun to play but still challenging.”
GolfAdvisor also ranked the Country Club of Brewton No. 3 on its “Top 10 Courses in Alabama in 2015” list.
Opened in 1997, the Country Club of Brewton was designed by U.S. Open champion and accomplished architect Jerry Pate. The charming 18-hole, 7,019-yard, par-72 layout weaves through towering pines and around serene lakes. Four sets of tees, narrow fairways and well-guarded greens present entertaining challenges for players of all skill levels while minimal homes on property make it a true, back-to-nature oasis.
Among its unforgettable holes is the 385-yard, par-4 12th that requires a straight drive and precise approach into a peninsula green. The 544-yard, par-5 18th puts an exclamation on rounds as a long, accurate tee shot is needed to reach the green in two.
Guests hone their games on the expansive, all-grass driving range and putting green. Private lessons and group clinics for all ages are available. Memberships include resident, junior and “out of town” offerings.
