Consumers and media continue to embrace high-styled Iconic Sport sun protective products

(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) - And the hits just keep on coming, as both consumers and the media continue to celebrate and embrace Iconic Sport (www.IconicSport.com) sun protective garments.

Founded almost six years ago by designer Leslie Chow, Iconic was created with the intent to fill a market void. The concept was to provide high styled, high end, golf apparel with an emphasis on performance enhancement. New hi-tech fabrications and golf-specific functional designs were combined with ultra chic fashion styling, and IconicSport became one of the pioneers of the luxury performance category.

Fundamental to the collection was an underlying theme of advanced sun protection, which quickly became one of the Iconic vanguards. Most of the garments in the Iconic line still offer built-in UPF 50+ sun protection, the highest level possible. In addition to the sun protective fabrics—again, a staple of the regular line—an ancillary group of sun accessory garments (the del sol collection) was added to the Iconic repertoire, and has been wildly successful with both the press and mainstream consumers.

Iconic brand ambassador, seven-time LPGA tour winner and noted golf fashion-plate, Michelle McGann was first attracted to the line by its sun protection aspects. Similarly, professional kayaker, Polly Green, has also come on board as an Iconic ambassador. Celebrated golf instructor, David Leadbetter, is another advocate of Iconic products, and both wears, and sells the sunsleeves at his Florida-based golf academy.

Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a group of 72 woman golfers employed the Iconic sunsleeeves as part of their "Old Hollywood Ladies Invitational Tournament" at The Club at Nevillewood.

"The sunsleeves were a big hit, and they reminded me of the long gloves the old movie stars used to wear," said event spokesperson and Iconic customer, Colleeen Adams. "They fit right in with the order of the day."

Her colleague, Carol Kunsman adds, "we thought you all were a super company to deal with for our fun day, and your product is absolutely outstanding."

Those familiar with the Iconic collection will note that many of the high fashion styles from the regular line were inspired by the glamour and elegance of this same time period.

"I'm a big fan of Audrey Hepburn," said Iconic founder and designer, Leslie Chow. "Her flair and sophistication have been major inspirations, and a consistent theme to our own raison d'etre."

And while Chow's story as a former NASA engineer and Stanford MBA, garnered initial media coverage, the garments themselves have prevailed as highlighted elements of numerous feature articles, magazine covers, items and stories.
