TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff Professional Sergio Garcia Wins Wyndham Championship

Garcia Wears New adidas Golf crossflex Footwear, Plays Full Bag of TaylorMade Equipment Including R11S Driver, RocketBallz 3-Wood

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Playing through unfavorable conditions including heavy rain, TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff professional Sergio Garcia wrapped up the PGA Tour’s regular season with a convincing win at the Wyndham Championship. Garcia carded rounds of 67-63-66-66 to secure his eighth career win on the PGA Tour.

Regarded as one of the purest ball strikers in golf, Sergio drove the ball beautifully all week with his R11S driver.  He also played his Tour Preferred MB irons and ATV wedges to perfection, his precision setting the table for three straight birdies on the closing nine.

Sergio wore adidas Golf’s new crossflex, an athletic-style golf shoe designed to deliver lightweight performance, spikeless traction and increased flexibility.

“When I first tested the new crossflex shoe I didn’t want to take them off,” said Garcia. “They are by far the most comfortable golf shoe I’ve ever worn; they feel more like a running shoe yet provide great traction on the course.”

Built on a lightweight running last, the innovative crossflex features a waterproof mesh upper and a spikeless geometric outsole, which proved to be vital at Sedgefield County Club’s rain-soaked terrain.

With the win, Sergio solidified his case to earn a spot on the 2012 European Ryder Cup team. Ranked 33rd in the FedExCup standings, Sergio now heads to Long Island for the start of the PGA Tour’s Playoffs at The Barclay's.
