Dormie Network Continues Expansion

Dormie Network continues expansion, purchasing new clubs, upgrading current, hosting professional tour events and forming strategic alliances

(LINCOLN, NEBRASKA) — The past three months have been busy for Dormie Network, a bourgeoning, nationwide stable of high-end, private destination golf clubs. In mid-January, Dormie Network finalized its acquisition of Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Located just outside Atlantic City and a short drive from Philadelphia, Hidden Creek opened to widespread critical acclaim in 2002, ranking No. 72 among Golf Magazine’s top 100 courses in the U.S.

On the heels of Dormie Network’s August 2018 purchase of Victoria National in Newburgh, Indiana – the top-rated course in the Hoosier State – Hidden Creek becomes the sixth golf club in the network’s national portfolio.

The Nebraska-based Dormie Network also includes Dormie Club (Pinehurst, North Carolina), Ballyhack Golf Club (Roanoke, Virginia), ArborLinks (Nebraska City, Nebraska), and Briggs Ranch Golf Club (San Antonio, Texas). Offering regional, national, and corporate memberships, the network's full-service accommodations, premium amenities, and renowned courses provide a combination of best-in-class golf with an intimate and casual retreat experience ideal for business or leisure.

The end goal is to create a network of as many as a dozen destination private clubs focused purely on the game and aimed at golf traditionalists. Close proximity to cities like Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, Omaha, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Richmond, Roanoke, St. Louis, and San Antonio makes Dormie Network clubs ideal for weekend getaways, buddy trips, or corporate retreats.

Each Dormie Network club reflects the unique flavor of its setting. The golf course architects represented include the renowned team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw (Hidden Creek and Dormie Club), Tom Fazio (Victoria National and Briggs Ranch), Arnold Palmer (ArborLinks), and Lester George (Ballyhack).

The Web.com Tour recently announced that the Dormie Network Classic at Briggs Ranch – a new tournament set to debut on the Tour’s annual schedule in 2019 – will be held April 22nd through 28th 2019, with 156 players competing for a $550,000 purse.

The announcement marks the Web.com Tour’s second partnership with Dormie Network. Late last year, the Web.com Tour announced a 10-year agreement for Victoria National Golf Club to serve as host venue for the Web.com Tour Championship through 2028. The newly named Web.com Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance will be contested August 30th through September 2nd 2019, with the final round set for Labor Day.

“Dormie Network is honored to host the Web.com Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance at Victoria National,” said Dormie Network President Zach Peed. “We expect the course will provide a test worthy of this prestigious tournament and are confident the event will be a success for the Tour, as well as the Evansville community, for years to come.”

Dormie Network also recently announced a partnership with CaddieNow, the nation’s most trusted caddie program, to improve and create caddie programs at all Dormie Network golf clubs. The alliance supports Dormie Network’s commitment to providing a pure golf experience by offering premier caddie services nationwide.

Caddies allow Dormie Network members entertaining friends, family, and business associates the opportunity to relax and enjoy the destinations. The network’s caddie program will be consistent yet honed to each club’s specific needs. CaddieNow will provide a caddie management platform at each course to support the caddies and facilitate bookings, ratings, and a premium member experience overall.

CaddieNow will support existing caddie programs at two Dormie Network clubs and launch new caddie programs at the other four. Victoria National and Hidden Creek are operating existing caddie programs. The other four will be creating new caddie programs while quickly matching the service level at all Dormie Network clubs.

Dormie Network also continues to invest in every club in the network by way of millions of dollars in capital improvement projects currently underway or in the planning stages. Projects include clubhouse renovations and constructions, cottage constructions, new maintenance facilities, on-course comfort stations, bunker renovations, the construction of a state-of-the-art TrackMan performance center, new maintenance equipment fleets, golf cart fleet upgrades, and more.

Dormie Network is adding cottages at Victoria National that will double the club’s current accommodations capacity. ArborLinks is currently undergoing a clubhouse expansion including the addition of a wine cellar, added accommodations, and a new comfort station on the golf course.

At the Dormie Club, Dormie Network is planning construction of a new clubhouse and maintenance facility as well as new accommodations perched at ideal locations around the club’s highly ranked Coore and Crenshaw-designed golf course. At Briggs Ranch – which features a Fazio-designed golf course that opened in 2001 and has been ranked among the top 20 layouts in Texas – Dormie Network is constructing premium, on-site lodging in the form of a half-dozen new casitas, as well as a state-of-the-art TrackMan performance center that will be ideal for corporate gatherings and client entertainment. Both will debut in 2019.

Ballyhack is renowned for its 2009 George-designed golf course that has been ranked among Virginia’s top 10 layouts. Ballyhack also offers a full-service, 11,500-square-foot clubhouse, an outstanding restaurant with farm-fresh inspired menus and indoor as well as outdoor dining spaces, and on-site cottage accommodations with 28 master suites. Dormie Network quickly constructed four new member cottages at Ballyhack, as well as a state-of-the-art maintenance facility.

“Our national membership is an unmatched offering for the avid golfer,” said Peed. “We carry no debt and do not charge assessments. It’s not a reciprocal play arrangement. Every member is a full member at all clubs with unlimited play and no catches like cart fees or food minimums. Dormie Network is first and foremost about the experience members and guests have at our clubs. Consistently exceptional service is paramount.”
