Golfweek Honors the Amateur Game in Dedicated May 9 Issue

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – With the amateur golf season in full swing, Golfweek released its 17th annual Amateur Issue. This special edition of the magazine shines a spotlight on golfers who play simply for the love of the game.

“Each spring we look forward to compiling this unique issue,” said Golfweek Editor Steve Harmon. “It gives our readers – as well our editorial team – a chance to delve into the stories behind the hardworking, non-professional players, which really reminds us what golf is all about. Reporting on all levels of the game is part of who Golfweek is, and this marquee issue continues to underscore that each and every year.”

The May 9 magazine covers notable amateur players of all ages, including a For Your Game instruction piece with renowned senior amateur Chip Lutz; the “Local Legends” section – a mainstay in the Amateur Issue – which highlights players who have impacted the game and their communities; and a feature story on Jack and Robin Burke, arguably the nation’s most dedicated couple when it comes to golf.

Also keeping with the amateur theme is the Rater’s Notebook section, showcasing Eugene Country Club (the site of the upcoming men’s and women’s NCAA Division I Championships), and Golfweek’s popular Toy Box section, which provides amateurs tailored advice for purchasing clubs.
