AHEAD Opens Doors of Expanded Fixture Workshop

(NEW BEDFORD, Mass.) – AHEAD is poised to reopen the doors Friday (Nov. 1) on its fixture facility in the wake of a significant expansion that has increased the size of the building 20 percent to 15,000 square feet.

The expansion will allow AHEAD – the innovative headwear, apparel and accessories company – to meet the growing demand for customized fixture solutions.

“This part of our business, originally intended solely to provide standardized fixtures for AHEAD products, has evolved into an integral part of what we offer to our customers,” said Anne Broholm, CEO.  “Having our own in-house fixture facility lets us provide retail display solutions – from a simple accessories fixture to a full shop remodel – at a great value.”

Broholm said that the latest expansion attests to the growing need for fixture support.  The full-time team of craftsmen, she added, all originated in the boat building industry and bring that same level of workmanship to the AHEAD produced fixtures.

In recent years, AHEAD has also been involved in some full custom remodels of shops across the country, including the Gold Course Golf Shop at Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

“The quality and care of the new fixtures and cabinetry has not gone unnoticed by our members and customers,” said Glen Byrnes, Director of Golf, Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. “It was virtually a seamless remodel, and we applaud AHEAD for the fine quality and for exceeding our expectations – both in the overall look of our shop and in sales since the renovation.”

AHEAD also was hired to design and produce the fixtures for the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Mini Golf Shop and Pro Shop in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
