Barefoot Resort Provides Myrtle Beach Package on May Episode of the Traveling Golfer Television Show

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) – When Barefoot Resort – in America’s Golf Capital, Myrtle Beach – debuted in 2000, it was more than a typical grand opening celebration. It marked a significant piece of golf history.

For the first time ever, four golf courses opened on the same property, on the same day. The renowned names of Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman and Davis Love III were credited with the design work … and the golf world applauded.

The 2,400 acre property became the talk of the golf world. What many did not know was that the resort was part of a master-planned community that would grow into one of the great golf destinations in the United States.

Barefoot Resort – what it was in the beginning … and what it has become – is the focus of the May episode of the award-winning Traveling Golfer television show.

Show host Tony Leodora will take viewers across the scenic fairways of the four very different golf courses … and behind the scenes of the operation of this amazing resort. The varied accommodation choices, the luxurious clubhouses, the tantalizing culinary experiences and the excitement of nearby Barefoot Landing will be featured.

“From the very beginning, the focus at Barefoot Resort was to create something that was completely memorable,” explains general manager Dave Genevro. “There was a master plan behind every phase of the development and we stuck to it. In the beginning there was just one small condo building. Now there are more than 3,200 rooftops in Barefoot. It has grown into a city.”

That city encompasses just about everything a golf – or a vacationer – could want.

The four courses, designed by four of the world’s top architects, are a tribute to golf excellence. The accommodations span the gamut from comfortable two-bedroom, two-bathroom condos to huge luxury apartments that tower over the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. The restaurants in each of the two clubhouses are renowned for the finest quality food, at surprisingly affordable prices. And, for an added bit of entertainment, there is one of the region’s largest driving ranges, framed by its own 20-television sports bar that also features a wood-fired pizza oven.

And, literally adjacent to the property, is the huge Barefoot Landing – a shopping, dining and entertainment complex that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

“I have been coming to Barefoot Resort from the very beginning,” says show host Tony Leodora. “It is the highest quality of golf, accommodations, dining and hospitality in the entire region. I have learned that, during any golf trip to Barefoot, there really is no reason to leave the property.

The May episode runs throughout the month on the Traveling Golfer network of websites ... including The Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air a number of times in the Month of May on “Rivertalk” on HTC-4 in Myrtle Beach. Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. The show won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the prestigious International Network of Golf Awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January of 2019. The latest award came on the heels of an unprecedented three straight years as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America

The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 18 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. Alternate shows also air in a two-month rotation. All old shows are archived for continued viewing on the YouTube Network and on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
