Merritt opened the tournament by carding a 62, tying the course record. He went on to shoot a final-round 67 – highlighted by a hole-out eagle on No. 8 – to finish 23-under 265 and take home the one-shot victory.
Battling inclement, inconsistent weather throughout the week, Merritt kept cool in VENTIL8 PLUS Marty and Matthew polo shirts and matching VENTIL8 PLUS Nash pants.
“We’re going to celebrate this one for a while and enjoy the fact that we’ve got two more years out here,” said the 32-year-old. “It was great teamwork all week.”
