More than 95 Stores to Implement Free One-Day Clinics & Custom Fitting Sessions for Wedges and Putters
(FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.) - For golfers seeking to save strokes on the green and improve their ability to attack approach shots, Edwin Watts Golf Shops, one of the world’s largest specialty golf retailers with over 95 locations, today announced that short game/wedge play is the theme of a chain-wide clinic scheduled for June 9. As part of the specialty retailers’ monthly clinic series, golfers of all ages & abilities can visit any of the 95+ locations to participate in clinics, test out the newest products and experience custom fitting sessions.
Edwin Watts Golf store associates, the “Watts Guys,” and field representatives from the leading equipment brands will be stationed at the putting corrals, providing putter fittings along with expert tips for the best putting technique. Additionally, associates will utilize the company’s in-store launch monitors and swing analysis software to conduct custom fitting sessions, matching golfers of all abilities with wedges and other equipment that will help improve their game.
“While bombing a drive off the tee provides a feeling of triumph, working on your putting stroke and short game around the green is truly the best antidote to improve your scoring average,” said John Watson, CEO, Edwin Watts Golf Shops. “These clinics are designed to promote all areas of true game-improvement, while catering to golfers of all skill levels.”
The chain-wide short game clinic, which will focus on fitting customers with wedges and putters, is part of Edwin Watts Golf’s clinic series that was created to make the 2012 golf season one of true game improvement, while offering a new theme each month that covers an important aspect of the game. Golfers of all ages and skill levels are invited to visit a local store and participate in interactive activities such as swing analysis, performance club fitting sessions, and the PING 10’ Putter Contest, where three lucky Edwin Watts Golf shoppers who make the putt will have a chance to win a PING Custom fit putter. Additionally, golfers purchasing select putters or wedges are eligible to receive 25% off a select putter or wedge of equal or lesser value.
The chain-wide tune-up day initiative is complemented by Edwin Watts Golf’s current TGIF TOURTM, the golf industry’s largest grassroots consumer retail tour, as Edwin Watts Golf reinforces the company’s commitment to custom fitting for golfers in 2012.
