PGA Tour Events Heading Back to Mississippi in 2012

Special Holiday Ticket Package Available Now

The PGA TOUR will continue its rich history with the state of Mississippi in 2012 when the Magnolia State once again hosts a pair of professional events.

The Champions Tour returns to Saucier, Miss. for a third straight year when the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic comes to Fallen Oak, the highly acclaimed amenity of Beau Rivage Casino Resort, March 19-25. Four months later the newly named True South Classic will be played at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, July 16-22, as part of the chase for the PGA TOUR's FedEx Cup.

The True South Classic's name is derived from the Mississippi slogan, "Find Your True South." The event first came to Mississippi back in 1968 as the Magnolia Classic. It has also been named the Southern Farm Bureau Classic, the Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic and, most recently, the Viking Classic.

"Mississippi is honored to once again partner with the PGA TOUR in 2012," said Mississippi Development Authority Director of Tourism Mary Beth Wilkerson. "Hosting events like the True South Classic and the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic is a fantastic way to showcase our great state and all it has to offer to golf fans from across the world."

The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic is offering a Holiday Gift Package, available until Dec. 20. For just $45, the package includes four Good-Any-Day tickets to the tournament, one Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic branded fleece blanket, a 15% discount coupon for one buffet at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi and a 15% discount coupon for golf at Grand Bear and Shell Landing.
