Golf Events Set for Life Luxe Jazz Concert Series

Golf tournament and clinic a bonus for jazz buffs who love golf

(Los Cabos, Mexico) – The third annual Life Luxe Jazz Experience, a premier music festival featuring an all-star line-up of Grammy Award-winning smooth jazz and R&B artists, will return to Los Cabos from November 4 – 7. For the second time, this year’s event will be held on the beach of the OMNIA Day Club along the shores of the Sea of Cortes in San Jose del Cabo.

Life Luxe Jazz continues its mission to build bridges through cultural exchange and the universal language of music. This one-of-a-kind experience offers four days of world-class music while showcasing top local cuisine as well as charitable health and wellness outreaches to both participants and local communities. Through its Jazzing Around Los Cabos partnerships, guests are provided expanded opportunities to enjoy the best of Los Cabos, from sailing and snorkeling to shopping and dining.

“We entered the new year feeling refreshed and optimistic about our plans to get ‘Back to the Luxe Life,’” said co-founder and president of the Life Luxe Group, Dianna Clarkson. “We have such a star-studded line up of both classic artists and contemporary jazz artists, plus a few 'new to you' talents we are eager to share.  A huge part of our mission to make the LLJ Experience uniquely different from other festivals is to always introduce our guests to new talent.“

New in 2021 is Jazz on the Green - The Mike Phillips Los Cabos Cup Golf Tournament, to be held on Nov. 5 at Cabo Real Golf Club. Golfers sorted by handicap in men’s and women’s flights will compete for prizes and trophies at one of the most scenic and challenging courses in Los Cabos. Entry fee is $225. Payment is due by July 31. (Space is limited).

Phillips, a jazz legend and single-digit golfer, has performed with Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael Jackson and at the presidential balls for Barack Obama and fellow sax player Bill Clinton. A solo artist who tours nationally, he is perhaps best known for his stirring rendition of the National Anthem at major sporting events, including MLB, NBA and NFL games. Golf and jazz, Phillips says, “both rely heavily on rhythm, the right amount of swing and a smooth tempo. Also, the margin for error is supermodel-thin with the instruments used — a club for golf and a horn for jazz — or else the finish is off key.”

Also new this year is Ladies on the Links, its theme the ‘perfect foursome’--Friends, Fashion, Golf and Music. Scheduled for Nov. 6 at Vidanta Golf, the event is a creative combination of golf lessons, tips and techniques directed by professional instructors, with the accent on fun. No-stress, 9-hole play is also available. The event is open to women who’ve never played before, novice golfers and seasoned players. The schedule of events includes sessions on meditation, stretching, golf for business, the Zen of golf, chipping and putting clinics, and game improvement strategies. Cost is $75.

The headliners taking the stage for this year’s eagerly anticipated Life Luxe Jazz Experience, postponed last year due to the pandemic, include world-class performers such as Jeff Lorber, Maysa, Eric Roberson, Leela James, Avery Sunshine, Naturally 7, Con Funk Shun, Mike Phillips, Raheem DeVaughn, West Byrd, Hiroshima, and Karen Briggs. The concert series will be hosted by comedian Mark Curry. After Party events with renowned DJ’s will be held following the concerts.

The four-day festival will present a Spirit of Jazz Gospel Brunch with Bishop Marvin Sapp on Nov. 7; and a Jazzing Around Los Cabos Sunset Cruise featuring the Life Luxe Players later the same day.

A variety of ticket packages are currently on sale. Prices start at $250 for one-day general admission and $450 for two-day admission.

The host hotels for the 2021 Life Luxe Jazz Experience are Vidanta Los Cabos, Viceroy, Hyatt Ziva and Royal Solaris. Concert organizers noted that local residents and visitors are invited to both the concerts and the golf outings. “We really want the local population in Los Cabos to know that they’re invited to and welcome to be a part of our events,” Clarkson said. “We want them to think of Life Luxe Jazz as their own.”

A portion of the festival’s ticket and golf tournament proceeds will benefit Cabo Ve (Cabo Sees), a community outreach program with the mission to bring eye care to those in need in Los Cabos.

Life Luxe Gives will once again partner with DIF (the municipal Family Services agency) and the local Lions Club Association of Los Cabos to bring eye care and prescription eyeglasses to the economically disadvantaged.

In 2019, Cabo Ve was also supported by CHI St Luke’s Health in Houston, Tex., which donated supplies to provide eye examinations and vision screenings. Volunteer optometrists from Houston, Atlanta and Los Angeles provided free exams to over 300 citizens in San Jose del Cabo.

Life Luxe Gives, through its nonprofit organization 53017 N, Inc., supports organizations and causes which raise funds and engage in hands-on work to promote education and create new possibilities for those with limited opportunities.

“Leaving a positive footprint and giving back to the communities we live and do business in is an important part of our business values,” said Clarkson. “We believe that philanthropy is a vital ingredient in living a luxe life.” For more information about these charitable programs, visit www.lifeluxegives.org.

Nowadays, when almost all artists are trying to find their way in the music industry, an integral aspect of retail has remained unchanged - distribution. The emanate distributor on this site delivers their music to retailers. Retailers then store these CDs and sell them at a profit. One of the most popular distributors in the music industry is CD Baby.

I believe that it can be a good option for music creators, and I hope that it can help underground artists promote their songs and get the recognition they deserve. I know that there are many of them on YouTube, so I just use Tubidy to download them and listen to them every day. In general, I think that the music industry is getting filled with actually talented artists, and that's definitely a change for the best.
