Golf Pride Grips Trusted By 83% of the Field Including both the Masters Winner and the Low Amateur

(PINEHURST, N.C.)
— Golf Pride a division of power management company Eaton and an industry leader in grip innovation, today announced that it was the leading swing and putter grip brand in play at the last major of Calendar Year 2020, with over 83% of the field trusting Golf Pride grips.

All twelve players who finished in the Top 10 and ties, including the champion, played Golf Pride grips. The winner trusted Golf Pride’s flagship Tour Velvet en route to winning his second career major and first Green Jacket, as did the winner of Low Amateur. In addition, Golf Pride putter grips were chosen by more of the field than any other brand to take on the famously challenging greens at the storied course that hosted the unseasonably late last major of CY2020.

Of those players finishing in the Top 10 and ties, three played standard Tour Velvet (including the winner), three played Tour Velvet Cord, one played Tour Velvet Super Tack, four played MCC, and one chose Z-Grip Cord. An interesting side note is that of the dozen players that finished in the top 10 and ties, eight played either cord or hybrid cord models.

“The unique November timing of this major did not impact the beauty or excitement in what was an amazing finale to the 2020 season. Obviously, we are extremely pleased the winner chose Golf Pride as so many have over the years to carry him to his historic win,” said Brandon Sowell, global director of sales and marketing for Golf Pride. “We are always proud that Golf Pride is trusted by so many of the world’s best and most demanding golfers and that we continue to play a part in golf’s biggest events.”

Each week, Golf Pride is the leading grip played from tee-to-green on the PGA TOUR with an average of 80% of pros choosing Golf Pride swing grips in each event, without any paid endorsements.
