TGA Premier Junior Golf Launches Fourth Franchise in Los Angeles

University of California, Irvine graduate finds career coaching youth and bringing golf programs to community schools and golf facilities

(Conejo Valley, CA) – TGA Premier Junior Golf – the innovative youth sports franchise model leading the golf industry in creating and bringing new players to the sport – continues its nationwide growth with the establishment of a fourth chapter near Los Angeles, California.

Branden Kornmaier, a recent graduate from the University of California, Irvine where he received a degree in business economics and studied biomedical engineering, never dreamed that his summer job during college would turn into his new career path.

“I looked for a job during college that allowed me to focus on my studies and my passions, while allowing me flexibility,” Kornmaier said. “During my two summers coaching with TGA, I fell in love with the program, as well as the business model and career opportunity it presented.”

Once out of school Kornmaier moved quickly to acquire the TGA Premier Junior Golf franchise in Conejo Valley, Calif., just northwest of Los Angeles. The acquisition makes the 22-year-old Californian the youngest TGA franchise owner in the country.

“I thought it would be a great opportunity to bring TGA to my hometown and be part of its successful grassroots program nationwide,” he said. “When I was growing up there was no after school golf program where I could go and learn basic instruction. With TGA, kids have the opportunity to learn a game they can play their entire lives.”

In 2003, TGA (Teach, Grow, and Achieve) launched the company’s first programs in Los Angeles under the direction of CEO and founder Joshua Jacobs. Since then the Los Angeles Chapters have brought over 80,000 local youth into the game through after-school enrichment and summer camp programs.

“Our franchise model has long-term sustainability within the golf industry and is now attracting a younger generation who want to be their own boss and build a successful business,” said Jacobs. “Branden brings a great amount of energy and passion to his business, which will serve him well creating new golfers throughout his community.”

TGA targets all demographics while concentrating on households with incomes greater than $50,000, which accounts for 80 percent of the junior golfers in America. With 41 million kids ages 5-18 in the U.S., and only six percent of them currently playing golf, TGA is focusing on the 94 percent who don’t play golf – as well as their parents.
