Westin Grand Cayman Welcomes 2020 with New Culinary Experiences

A satiating start to the New Year with the debut of specialty seafood restaurant woto, $1 million kitchen at Tortuga Beach Grill & Bar, and expansion of Cayman Coffee Exchange

(Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) – Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa is kicking off a delicious new decade with a series of culinary enhancements. With major improvements to the oceanfront resort’s existing dining outlets and the first sushi, poke and ceviche restaurant of its kind on the island, the property is strengthening its position as a coveted destination upon the most expansive stretch of the world-renowned Seven Mile Beach.

The new food and beverage experiences will gradually roll out through the height of the Caribbean travel season, covering the culinary waterfront with delights for every palate. Enhancements include the introduction of woto, a uniquely diverse restaurant serving only sashimi-grade seafood specialties from a menu crafted by award-winning Executive Chef Sandy Tuason, an impressive new million-dollar kitchen at Tortuga Beach Grill & Bar, and a broad expansion of Cayman Coffee Exchange.

The culinary expansion follows not far behind a recent $50 million renovation and elevates Westin Grand Cayman’s standing within the island’s luxury market and foodie scene. The resort has long been at the forefront of establishing Grand Cayman as a culinary destination, drawing influence from Caymanian cuisine and over 135 international cultures present on the island to curate diverse menus and experiences.

Westin Grand Cayman Welcomes woto: Celebrate the bounty of the sea with woto, a new all-day dining destination offering a melting pot of fresh fish cuisine with the first menu specializing in sushi, ceviche, and poke on the island. The enticing menu, serving only sashimi-grade fish, is set to debut in March offering a world of flavors for seafood lovers with adventurous palates including Teriyaki Salmon Belly Po-cay Bowl ($20), Nikkei Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche ($18) and a lengthy selection of Sashimi, Nigiri Sushi, and Traditional Maki Rolls. Woto offers a crisp and clean interior with a white-and-beige palette, a long sushi bar with blue cushioned barstools, a stylish geometric floor pattern, and wide windows looking out onto Seven Mile Beach and the blue Caribbean beyond. With its fresh fusion cuisine and inviting atmosphere with breathtaking ocean views, expect woto to rival the most popular restaurants in Grand Cayman. Open daily 11am-11pm.

Expanded Beachfront Dining at Tortuga: Long a guest favorite, Tortuga Beach Bar & Grill has introduced a new $1 million kitchen enabling expanded culinary offerings to establish the Caribbean casual restaurant as the best beachfront dining on island. Settle into an oceanside table with unparalleled views of Seven Mile Beach midday for a diverse selection of small and large plates, salads, and desserts. Menu highlights include Tortuga Fish or Shrimp Tacos ($20) and a Tomato, Watermelon and Feta Cheese Salad ($14), as well as an extensive selection of cocktails including Soggy Dollar (gold rum, fresh orange juice, fresh pineapple juice, and coconut cream) and Summer Rain (Gosling’s dark rum, banana liquor, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and soda water). As the sun sets, the new dinner menu will offer its own small/shared plates as well as satisfying entrĂ©e selections such as Grilled Whole Caribbean Snapper ($39) and Jerk Baby Back Ribs ($24). Guests and local Caymanians alike can head to Tortuga for regularly scheduled theme nights (Mon-Fri each week) from “Taco Tuesdays” to “Pig Roast” Thursdays, as well as new monthly “Full Moon Beach BBQs” with fireworks to light up the otherwise brightest nights of each month. Whatever the day of the week, happy hour will feature half-priced cocktails, two-for-one local beers, and live acoustic music from 5pm-7pm. Open daily from 11am – 9pm.

Three Times the Caffeinated Fun at Cayman Coffee Exchange: The resort’s coffee hot spot is more than tripling in size to 1700 sq. ft., to better reduce queues and allow guests to easily breeze through for some grab-and-go deliciousness. Bright, spacious and scheduled to debut in February, the newly expanded Cayman Coffee Exchange will feature a broad three-sided serving counter, comfortable wicker chairs and wooden-topped side tables, and sleek aesthetic with dangling lights, tile walls, and a white-and-beige color scheme. The new menus will feature their carefully curated coffee blend, revitalizing juices and smoothies, hot and cold breakfast delights, fresh baked pastries, sandwiches, and nutritious salads. The restaurant has also partnered with George Town’s Gelato & Co. to serve the best gelato on the island, blended from fresh local ingredients and available in multiple flavors. Cayman Coffee Exchange will be open daily 6am – 9pm.
