Louis Oosthuizen chooses Sundog Eyewear Mela-Lens

Sundog Eyewear is pleased to announce that Louis Oosthuizen has joined the Sundog team of Genuine Performers.

“We are delighted that Louis is now a member of the Sundog family,” said Rod Hoogstraten, President of Sundog Distributing Inc. “He is an outstanding individual on and off the golf course, and with his unique style and high standard of performance, we very much look forward to working with Louis.”

Oosthuizen is one of golf’s finest players. Among his six international victories, he won The Open Championship and the Open de Andalucia de Golf last year, and the Africa Open earlier this season.

“I look forward to playing in Sundog Eyewear,” said Oosthuizen, the 28-year-old from Mossel Bay, South Africa. “The Mela-Lens technology is amazing and I believe it will help me on the golf course.”

Added International Sports Management founder Andrew “Chubby” Chandler: “A classy person and player with an equally classy product. It’s a perfect partnership.”

Oosthuizen joins Genuine Performers Paula Creamer, Pablo Larrazabal, Hunter Mahan, and Mike Weir wearing Sundog Eyewear Mela-Lens sunglasses. For 2011, the newest member of the team will wear the Draw model.

“Mela” is an abbreviation for Melanin, a naturally produced pigment that acts as a sunscreen protecting the skin from High Energy Visible light or “blue” light. In partnership with BNL Sun Lenses, an Essilor company, Sundog Eyewear has created the Sundog Mela-Lens lines utilizing synthetic melanin to produce state-of-the-art melanin lens technology. Mela-Lens absorbs light seamlessly over a broad spectral range providing superior blue light filtration with minimal color distortion, and 100 per cent UVA/B protection. Mela-Lens features the Eternity Hard Coat for superior abrasion resistance.

The 2011 Sundog Eyewear line includes the Paula Creamer Collection; Hunter Mahan’s Signature H Series; Mike Weir’s Weir Golf Signature Series; Mela-Lens Polarized and Mela-Lens Photochromic models; and the complete Core Golf line.
