BirdiLens GV1 Golf Smart Glasses Bring the Course Into View

The AR golf glasses bring hole maps, yardages, hazards, and AI-assisted putting guidance from the BirdiLens app into a heads-up display

The information a golfer needs changes as the round evolves. The BirdiLens GV1 Golf Smart Glasses keep that information within view, from hole layout off the tee to putting guidance on the green.

GV1 connects to the BirdiLens app to bring selected course information into a bright heads-up display controlled by voice or touch. “A phone may already hold the information a golfer needs, but reaching for it can interrupt the rhythm of the shot,” said George Wang, Founder and CEO of BirdiLens. “GV1 brings that information into view when it is useful, helping golfers check what they need and keep the round moving.”

Keep the Course in Sight

From the tee, GV1 displays the hole layout, key yardages, and carry distance for nearby hazards. As the golfer moves down the fairway, the view shifts to distances to the front, center, and back of the green. Through the BirdiLens app, golfers can access course data for more than 40,000 courses worldwide.

Full course maps, settings, and detailed round information remain available in the BirdiLens app, while GV1 provides key information at a glance.

Voice commands and touchpad controls let golfers switch between views without repeatedly reaching for the phone, while voice-based score entry keeps the app out of the way throughout the round.

With up to 2,000 nits of brightness, the display remains visible in bright outdoor conditions. Golfers can control when the heads-up display appears, hide it before the swing, or turn it off entirely when it is not needed.

Guidance Through the Green

On the green, GV1 extends the same heads-up experience to putting. In the BirdiLens app, proprietary range technology measures the distance from the ball to the hole. AI Putting then combines that measurement with green slope and direction data to generate a suggested putting path for display on GV1.

Designed to Wear Like Golf Eyewear

BirdiLens

At 43 grams, GV1 is designed to wear more like everyday eyewear than traditional smart glasses. A die-cast magnesium-aluminum front frame keeps the structure lightweight and rigid, while flexible beta-titanium temples help create a comfortable, low-profile fit.

The temples and pure-titanium nose pads can be adjusted independently to accommodate different head shapes and fit preferences. Weight is distributed across the nose and ears to help the glasses stay stable while walking the course, setting up over the ball, and moving through the swing.

For golfers who wear prescription lenses, GV1 uses a two-layer optical structure. The display optic remains sealed and aligned inside the frame, while an optional magnetic prescription lens can be attached or removed without disturbing the display system.

GV1 is also rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, adding protection for regular outdoor use.

Xplor Golf & Club Research Reveals Rapid AI Adoption Across the Golf & Club Industry

New research from Xplor Golf & Club, home to Clubessential, foreUP, and BlueGolf, explores how golf and club professionals are using AI today, and where they see the greatest opportunities ahead.

(ATLANTA, GA) – Xplor Golf & Club, which brings together Clubessential, foreUP, and BlueGolf, today announced the release of From AI Curiosity to Critical Advantage, a new guide designed to help private clubs, golf course operators, and tournament organizations identify where artificial intelligence can create meaningful value and where people should remain firmly in the loop.

The guide arrives as AI moves from an emerging concept to an increasingly important consideration across the industry. Xplor Golf and Club’s 2026 research found that respondents are actively exploring how AI could fit into their organizations, with reporting and analytics emerging as one of the clearest areas of near-term opportunity. As adoption grows, the question is shifting from whether AI belongs in golf and club operations to where it can solve real problems, what teams should trust it to do, and where human judgment still matters.

The guide helps organizations answer those questions by breaking down predictive, generative, and agentic AI, exploring where the industry sees near-term value, and providing a two-minute assessment to evaluate AI readiness.

“The real opportunity with AI isn’t flashy features. It’s solving real operational pain points,” said Stacy Zak, Vice President of Product Management at Xplor Golf & Club. “Because when you combine ideas like the agentic engine with the AI capabilities emerging across the platform, you begin to see something much bigger take shape.”

One of those opportunities is simple: giving teams time back.

Across private clubs, golf facilities, and tournament organizations, AI could reduce time spent searching systems for information, compiling reports, drafting routine communications, and repeatedly answering common questions. That can create more capacity for the work that requires people: acting on insights, building personal connections, preparing memorable experiences, and making decisions that require judgment.

For a private club, that could mean less time rewriting routine member communications and searching for information, and more time anticipating member needs and creating personal experiences. For a golf course, it could mean less time pulling together reports and more time using the numbers to make decisions across a busy operation. For a tournament organization or golf program, it could mean less time compiling event information and answering routine questions and more time preparing for the next event and supporting players.

The research suggests golf and club leaders are taking a practical approach to that opportunity. When asked where AI could create the most value over the next 12 months, more than half of respondents selected reporting and analytics, pointing to a desire for better intelligence before greater autonomy.

“AI should never replace the relationships that define this industry,” said Scott Strong, President of Xplor Golf & Club. “Used well, AI can help preserve that human side of hospitality by giving the people who deliver it better intelligence and more time to spend where it matters most.”

The guide also explores what it takes to become AI-ready, from understanding what information an organization already has and how well it is connected to protecting sensitive information and avoiding new data silos. A two-minute AI readiness assessment helps readers evaluate whether the information they rely on is integrated with their business management system.

Whoosh Partners with Priswing to Bring Dynamic Pricing Integration to Public Golf Facilities

Integration brings AI-powered pricing directly into the Whoosh tee sheet, helping courses capture more revenue with less effort.

Whoosh, Inc., a leading provider of modern operations software for golf, racquet and hospitality facilities, today announces a strategic integration with Priswing, an AI-powered dynamic pricing engine built for the golf industry. The integration allows public courses to automate pricing based on real-time demand, booking patterns, and lead time, helping maximize tee sheet revenue and eliminate manual rate adjustments.

By enabling the integration, operators can choose which rates they’d like to make dynamic directly within the Whoosh platform. Priswing then uses booking data to automatically push price updates—either in autopilot mode or via manual controls—matching selected rates in real time. This allows facilities to charge more when demand is high, offer discounts during slower times, and ultimately increase utilization while saving time and allowing operators to stay focused on delivering great guest experiences.

“Operators leave money on the table every day, and this integration helps to change that,” said Colin Read, Whoosh CEO and Co-Founder. “While dynamic pricing isn’t new, it’s rarely this accessible or this easy to manage. By bringing it directly into the Whoosh tee sheet, we’re giving public courses a powerful, automated way to boost revenue, without adding complexity.”

Priswing leverages machine learning to respond to real-time changes in market behavior by applying key historic data factors, enabling golf course operators to better align their pricing with demand. This technology provides actionable flexibility and pricing intelligence previously reserved for larger-scale resort operations, now easily accessible to public courses of all sizes.

“With Priswing, public facilities can now access intelligent pricing strategies that were once only available to large-scale resorts,” said Damien Lemarie, Co-Founder of Priswing. “The integration with Whoosh makes it simple to activate dynamic pricing, without changing how your staff works or how guests book.”

Staff can easily see both the dynamic price and the booked rate for any tee time, giving them control while reducing operational lift. Early beta testers are already seeing improvements in utilization and topline revenue.

“Within the first few weeks, we saw a noticeable increase in revenue during high-demand hours, and more activity in our slower periods thanks to strategic discounts,” said Mike Longyear, General Manager of PohlCat. “Priswing’s AI handles the rate adjustments automatically, and the fact that it’s all built into the Whoosh tee sheet makes it seamless for our staff.”

The Whoosh–Priswing integration offers public golf courses a timely solution for today’s revenue challenges:
- Maximize revenue by dynamically increasing rates when demand surges.
- Fill open slots and increase utilization with AI-driven discounts during low-demand periods.
- Unify booking and pricing in a single, intuitive tee sheet interface.
- Streamline operations with automated pricing updates, no manual workflows required.

To learn more about the Priswing integration or express interest in a demo, clubs are encouraged to contact their Whoosh representative or visit www.whoosh.io/contact.

(RIDGELAND, MS)
— SkyGolf, maker of SkyCaddie, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, announces the new SkyCaddie PRO 5X rangefinder is now available to order. The PRO 5X heralds a new era of GPS rangefinders with both the advantages of a Tour yardage book and the accuracy of a laser, but much faster to save strokes and lower scores.

Faster and more powerful than any SkyCaddie in history, now with laser accuracy to meet the demands of professional golfers and recreational golfers who recognize the importance of having the right distance.

It is the complete full-color, high-definition, Professional Tour Book, with a host of exclusive SkyCaddie gameplay enhancements such as IntelliPath and IntelliGreen Pro – delivered with even greater speed than SkyCaddie’s most powerful previous model.

The PRO 5X was one of the star attractions at SkyCaddie’s 2024 PGA Show booth, in Orlando, FL, and is the first of a new series of PRO X rangefinders to come from the brand.

The ultra-quick new multi-core processor in the PRO 5X powers SkyCaddie’s proprietary TruePoint Precision Positioning Technology which features a high-performance new GPS engine which doubles previous standards of error-correction technology to provide unmatched accuracy and reliability in the same category as a laser.

SkyCaddie’s exceptionally detailed ground-verified course maps, which give the brand’s users an exclusive advantage over those with other GPS devices, are more vivid and vibrant than ever before via the PRO 5X’s large 5.5” LCD Color Touch Screen.

Notable exclusive SkyCaddie features such as IntelliGreen Pro and Dynamic HoleVue with IntelliPath, which revolutionize how you play a golf hole, have never looked better or worked faster than with a SkyCaddie PRO 5X.

PRO 5X is sure to be popular with competitors on the Legends Tour, where SkyCaddie is already the official Distance Measuring Device in an official partnership which started in summer 2023.

“75% of the Top 20 on the Legends Tour already use a SkyCaddie, but there’s no question that many will now be upgrading to the new PRO 5X” said Jacqui Surman, SkyGolf Senior VP and COO.

“It gives them absolute trust in their yardages. The PRO 5X will enable them to select clubs and hit shots with more confidence than with any other rangefinder in golf.

The PRO 5X is also the perfect companion for SkyCaddie’s revolutionary GameTraX 360 System, which will be available in March 2024 to add super-intelligence to every club in your bag.

The SkyCaddie PRO 5X Tour Book GPS rangefinder’s list of features is testament to SkyCaddie’s undiminished focus on providing serious golfers with the best-possible yardage information:

- Golf’s best-ever GPS accuracy is guaranteed by SkyCaddie’s proprietary new TruePoint Precision Positioning Technology – which provides “laser” accuracy for pinpoint yardages, plus the major line-of-sight and instant shot-planning advantages which SkyCaddie GPS has always offered over laser.

- Want to see real speed and power? The PRO 5X has a new ultra-fast multi-core processor which delivers lightning-fast real-time course data and course search times faster than any previous SkyCaddie.

- SkyCaddie’s exclusive professional, tournament-legal features – HoleVue, IntelliPath, IntelliGreen Pro and SkyPins.

SkyGolf to Reveal Revolutionary GameTraX 360 System at the 2024 PGA Show

(RIDGELAND, MS) — SkyGolf, maker of SkyCaddie, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, announce that they will be exhibiting at the 2024 PGA Show in Florida January 23 – 26 in booth #1401 to reveal the revolutionary GameTraX 360 system, the most advanced game and performance tracking product on the market for golfers. In addition, SkyGolf will introduce the SkyCaddie Pro 5X rangefinder representing the perfect platform for GameTraX 360 and the first of the Pro X series of rangefinders now with laser accuracy to meet the demands of professional golfers and recreational golfers who recognize the importance of having the right distance.

GameTraX 360, which is a combination of SkyGolf’s SuperTagsTM with a SkyCaddie rangefinder, allows a golfer to not only capture the location, club used and distance of each shot during a round, but it will also capture a virtual 3-D replication of the swing and putts that produced the shot along with club performance data such as club head speed, shaft angles at address and impact, and much more…all automatically to effectively obsolete other products in related categories.

The ground-breaking new GameTraX 360 system introduces next-generation technology to golf and is the giant leap forward for game-tracking which golfers have been waiting for…and the SkyCaddie Pro 5X is the perfect complement to this system. Nothing Else Comes Close!

Now, you can have a virtual camera following you around the golf course, capturing all the details you would want of every swing, every shot and even every putt – and all you do is play your normal game and be able to see why you hit the great shot, or the shot that led to the double bogey! You can’t fix it if you can’t see it!

An integral part of the GameTraX 360 system and joining the SkyCaddie Pro X series of rangefinders in early 2024, are the revolutionary SkyGolf SuperTags. Adding less than a swing weight and affordable enough to add super-intelligence to every club in your bag, SuperTags are golf’s smallest, lightest and most powerful way to automatically capture strokes gained information but also capture your swing and club data that produced that good or bad shot impacting your score.

SkyGolf SuperTags feature a more advanced level of sensor technology than previously available in golf sensor products. They add less than a single swing weight and are less than half the price of competitive alternatives with no compromise in quality or accuracy of measurements…all with a battery life expectancy to average two years.

SuperTags, with its multiple-sensor and Bluetooth technology, leapfrog all other products in the game-tracking category by combining SkyCaddie’s exclusive, industry-leading, ground-mapped GPS golf course maps with a suite of automated game-tracking features and much improved reliability. Compared to other tracking products currently available, golfers will find a huge reduction in missed shots, greater accuracy, much simpler post-round editing tools, and more intuitive usability to overcome the resistance to broader adoption as cited by golfers who have tried but became dissatisfied with current offerings in the market.

The addition of capturing your swing and club performance data, both visualized in 3D and data form, makes SuperTags the next BIG THING in golf – and they are affordable enough to add to all the clubs in your bag. Golfers will find SuperTags are the best way yet to take a deep dive into their in-play performance, including calculating Strokes Gained with no intrusion needed during play.

“We are excited to introduce GameTraX 360 at the PGA Show and continue our tradition of bringing innovation to golfers that makes them better and have more fun! Starting with pioneering GPS rangefinders for personal use on the golf course or bringing affordability to having your own simulation system at home, GameTraX 360 may be our best innovation yet,” said Jacqui Surman, SkyGolf Senior VP and COO. “GameTraX 360 with SkyGolf’s SuperTags uses breakthrough technology to provide unmatched on-course and off-course performance tracking information and actionable data with no intrusion, no buttons to push, no cameras to set up and no distractions during play. You can just go play and automatically gather more actionable data than you could imagine for game improvement or sharing your actual game play with your coach!”

The SkyCaddie Pro 5X is based upon its proprietary TruePoint Precision Positioning Technology powered by a high-performance GPS engine which doubles the error correction technology to provide unmatched accuracy and reliability in the same category as lasers. The laser-like accuracy of SkyCaddie’s new Pro X series is crucial to a golfer’s confidence, which is further enhanced by the most complete, most reliable and the only ground verified course maps in the game. To trust their club, a golfer must be able to trust their caddie, just like a Tour player. SkyCaddies are the closest thing to a Tour players yardage book but automated to provide the best course management information faster and more reliably than any alternative. NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE!

“Why guess what you can measure?” said Chris Trottie, Trottie Golf. “SkyGolf and I are aligned with the belief that better golf comes through better information. And now the visual and data analysis tools supplied by the new GameTraX 360 system, featuring SkyGolf SuperTags, are the simplest, least intrusive and most comprehensive solution yet seen in golf to both measure and accurately capture the information you need to analyze and improve your game. Capturing “Strokes Gained” information while playing has never been easier and the ability to capture the swing that produced the shot has never been practical before the SuperTag.”

SkyGolf’s GameTraX 360 powered by its next generation SuperTag includes the following advanced technologies/features/benefits.

Advanced Ball Strike Technology (ABS Technology) uses high precision sensors with a combination of proprietary and patented know-how to capture both, but distinguish between actual shots and practice swings, including putts, both on and off the course automatically. No interaction required by golfer with near 100% reliability in shot capture while discarding practice swings.

ClubTrak 360 Technology captures not only the club used, shot location and distance like other game tracking products, but it also eliminates missed and false shots while capturing the path of the club from address back to impact, and a multitude of actionable performance data for the club and swing. For the first time, recreational and aspiring professional golfers can capture all the data needed to visually see how they perform on the course for each shot with data such as club head speed, tempo, shaft angles, club position from address to impact, attack angles, and much more with no intrusion into the enjoyment of your round. JUST GO PLAY!

SwingVue 360 Technology utilizes the thousands of data points captured during play or practice to create a virtual 3-D replay of your swing and club path as if multiple cameras were set up for each shot on or off the course. Also, you can identify swing faults by comparing your favorite swing or the one your teacher wants you to groove to the swings you take while playing. And fixing faults has never been easier with multiple groove sessions to see it, focus on it, and fix it. Does your club track to far inside and under the plane on takeaway or coming over the top on your downswing? YOU CAN’T FIX IT IF YOU CAN’T SEE IT. NOW YOU CAN SEE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WITHOUT INTRUSION INTO YOUR GAME.

AirSwing Technology allows the capture of your swing and club data such as club head speed and swing path when hitting balls is not practical or required. AirSwing Technology is especially useful for applications such as speed training as well as grooving a swing without the intimidation or risk of hitting an actual ball.

Patented Calibration Technology is used by SkyGolf in setting up the SuperTag to precisely match the sensors to the club face alignment, loft, and club length to enable superior accuracy over other sensor products that rely upon manual alignment.

SkyGolf’s SDK (Software Developers Kit) expands the benefits of SuperTag technology to third-party platforms. Imagine the improvement enjoyment and in data integrity by avoiding manual entry with the automatic capture of the club used, club metrics and a 3-D replication of your swing while using one of the popular golf simulation or launch monitor products.

All data captured and measured by the SkyGolf SuperTags within the GameTraX 360 system are stored in the golfer’s personal SkyGolf 360® online space. This provides the player and his teacher with a library of their personal performance history, and a wealth of patterns for further analysis, including strokes gained and lost.  But, in addition to any other product, get hole-by-hole visualizations of historic play, including swings for every shot or putt, over a multitude of rounds.

The GameTraX 360 system has been developed and perfected over more than a decade since SkyGolf was the first to introduce the concept of intelligent SmartClubs at the 2010 PGA Show. GameTraX 360 represents over 15 years of research and development to find the solution to the flaws present in not only SkyGolf’s initial product but other game-tracking systems currently available in the market and add more actionable and useful data without distracting from the fun of play.

Fewer missed or false shots and intuitive and easy edit tools make post-round work a breeze….and golfers and their coaches can now compare golf swing mechanics from your real-world rounds, against the way you swing the club in practice or a formal coaching environment.

How different is your golf swing out on the course, from your golf swing during practice or a golf lesson? The great Ben Hogan has been credited saying that a golfer has three swings: The one you PRACTICE with, the one you PLAY with, and the one you PLAY WITH UNDER PRESSURE. Now you can see all three.

And before you tee off, does your putting stroke on the practice green change when – a few minutes later – you putt under the pressure for a birdie on the first hole?

To better simulate the feeling of a real golf at the 2024 PGA Show, SkyGolf’s’s GameTraX 360 and SuperTags will be demonstrated using an adjustable Zen Green Stage in booth #1401, to show the advantages and insights technology can give to golfers looking to hole out under pressure on real-world breaking putts.

Also, SkyGolf is pleased to announce that Chris Trott, the dynamic golf industry content creator and social media personality known as Trottie Golf, will be in the SkyGolf booth doing demos of the new SkyCaddie products on Wednesday, January 24th and Thursday, January 25th at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.

Titleist Radar Capture Technology (RCT) Makes TOUR Debut at East Lake

“On the Range at the TOUR Championship” on ESPN+ (2 p.m. ET) to feature prototype Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT golf balls designed for TrackMan Range

(FAIRHAVEN, Mass.) – Titleist’s groundbreaking Radar Capture Technology (RCT) will be on full display today on the range at East Lake Golf Club, as many of the world’s best dial in their swings for the TOUR Championship.

Developed by Titleist Golf Ball R&D engineers, RCT is an embedded radar reflective technology – currently available on Pro V1, Pro V1x, Pro V1x Left Dash and AVX golf balls – that enhances the data capture of launch conditions in an indoor environment, delivering the most accurate information possible.

“On the Range at the TOUR Championship” (airing live on ESPN+, Aug. 23 at 2pm ET) will utilize Radar Capture Technology – with players hitting prototype Pro V1 and Pro V1x RCT models designed specifically for TrackMan Range – to provide viewers with precision flight and spin data in real time.

The enhanced data capture from Titleist RCT, in combination with TrackMan’s ball tracing technology, will allow the broadcast to present a complete and accurate analysis of any shot hit with a Pro V1 or Pro V1x on the East Lake driving range with far more detail than ever before.

“Spin is the magical number for truly understanding the flight and movement of the golf ball,” said Fredrik Tuxen, TrackMan’s Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “Speed and power is getting a lot of attention, but managing and controlling spin rates is what really sets players apart. It is the key number for players to control their carry distance, curvature and how the ball reacts when landing. Titleist is an innovative leader and shares our passion for providing golfers with the most precise data possible. They’ve helped take our Trackman Range Product to the next level with the prototype radar capture technology.”

“Everything we do at Titleist is about precision and developing innovations that help golfers play better, more consistent golf,” said Matt Hogge, Titleist Golf Ball R&D’s Director of Product Development. “Data is a critical part of this process and partnering with TrackMan has pushed both our teams to unlock technologies that measure spin as precisely as ever, wherever golfers want to practice or play.”

“Whether it is the pursuit of better technique or better equipment, spin is the performance output that must be accurately measured to then evaluate attributes like peak height, angle of descent, carry and total distance,” Hogge said. “The prototype RCT technology we’ve developed for Trackman Range elevates the ability to capture this spin data and provide the most accurate analysis of every shot hit by any player across the driving range.”

Among this week’s TOUR Championship participants teeing up a Titleist, the overwhelming #1 ball on the PGA TOUR: Scottie Scheffler (Pro V1), Patrick Cantlay (Pro V1x), Viktor Hovland (Pro V1), Max Homa (Pro V1), Matt Fitzpatrick (Pro V1x), Brian Harman (Pro V1), Wyndham Clark (Pro V1x), Jordan Spieth (Pro V1x), Tyrrell Hatton (Pro V1) and Tom Kim (Pro V1x).

TITLEIST RCT TECHNOLOGY

The Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls with prototype Radar Capture Technology (RCT) being used this week on the range at East Lake are designed on the same platform developed for the original Titleist RCT models currently available for use with indoor launch monitors.

RCT is an internal radar reflective marker that produces an optimized signal capture, delivering true spin measurements for every shot. Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls with RCT feature the same design, materials, quality manufacturing and performance as their non-RCT models, but with the enhanced benefit of radar signal capture.

New App Uses Computer Vision to ID Golf Balls

ScanMyGolfBall shares hidden details with golfers

(WESTMINSTER, MD) — SMGB Technologies, LLC has launched their flagship smartphone app called ScanMyGolfBall which uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to help golfers identify the best golf balls for their individual level of play.

“Playing with the wrong golf ball can cost you hundreds of yards per round,” says Tim Chase, CEO of SMGB Technologies and avid golfer. “But knowing all the details about every ball is impossible, so I just thought, what if I could scan a ball with my smartphone and have it tell me if it’s a good fit, or not?”

ScanMyGolfBall allows users to point their smartphone camera at the golf ball for details about greenstopping spin, drive distance, compression and construction, which is paired with a ball fitting tool that understands how each player’s level of game fits with the scanned ball for over 300 known golf balls in circulation in the new and secondary markets. The app will also make recommendations about which currently manufactured golf balls are a best fit for that golfer.

Chase is the founder and chairman of WMS Partners, a wealth management firm based in Towson, Maryland. He developed the golf ball database over the past several years and then partnered with technologist and fellow golfer Graham Dodge to create the patent-pending computer vision application.  Dodge is the top executive for two technology development nonprofits, founder of a robotics makerspace in Maryland, and a mentor-in-residence at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures.

“The app’s AI architecture is designed to get smarter with use,” says Dodge. “Not only will it recognize more golf balls over time, but it will learn to detect damage on the surface of a ball to predict its playability on the course and its resale value for the secondary market.”

LA GOLF, Sportsbox AI Partner to Launch Motion-Based Experience

(BEVERLY HILLS, CA)
– LA GOLF partners with Sportsbox AI to launch the ‘LA GOLF Fit Yourself Experience’. This is a first-of-its-kind fitting experience inside the Sportsbox 3DGolf app that allows golfers to effortlessly record their own swing and matches them to the perfect shaft for their game.

The collaboration between LA GOLF and Sportsbox AI has culminated in the development of an extraordinary experience that introduces an unprecedented AI fitting based on state-of-the-art motion science, revolutionizing the way golfers select the best equipment for their game.

“You can now fit yourself more accurately than a launch monitor or simulator with just your phone and three swings, and that is a big freaking deal for golfers,” says Reed Dickens, Founder and CEO of LA GOLF. “Jeehae Lee is a brilliant entrepreneur, and I could not be more excited to partner with Sportsbox AI to bring golfers the future of club fitting.”

Sportsbox AI and LA GOLF have tested the AI logic on a wide array of golfers – male and female across different ages, swing speeds, and handicaps – and on average, golfers who switched to the LA GOLF driver shaft that was recommended to them through the app gained an average of 9 yards and tightened their dispersion by 15 yards.

“Golfers have had two options for finding clubs to play: ask a friend or their local pro or go through an often expensive fitting experience that is based on a ‘guess and check’ process, which is entirely dependent on the fitting professional to make the right recommendation,” says Jeehae Lee, Co-founder and CEO at Sportsbox AI. “We have - through this partnership with LA GOLF and Sportsbox’s unique AI technology - uncovered clear Motion-based Fitting Logic that is much more reliable than eyeballed assessments. We’re excited to bring this service to golfers everywhere through their mobile phone - for FREE.”

GameGolf Welcomes Famed Golf Instructor Martin Chuck

Renowned teacher to showcase user benefits and to direct in-app coaching process through the new KZN GPS shot tracking platform

(Palo Alto, CA) – GAMEGOLF, the game’s leading GPS shot- and stat-tracking sensor platform, is pleased to welcome renowned golf instructor, inventor and presenter Martin Chuck as the brand’s Coaching Lead and official ambassador. Chuck will be a spokesman and educator for the brand in content and videos and will also be instrumental in developing best practices and optimization plans for coaches and instructors who, along with their students, use the innovative GameGolf KZN platform.

“Martin Chuck is one of the brightest minds and most generous and talented teachers in the game today. Our team couldn’t be more excited that he’s a part of GameGolf and will educate golfers and coaches on the competitive edge GameGolf KZN delivers,” says Joe McKnight, V.P. of Engineering at GameGolf. “What Martin brings to GameGolf is the practical simplification of the platform’s various and beneficial features as well as leadership that will show coaches and golfers how to get the most out of GameGolf KZN.”

GameGolf recently announced its most extensive upgrades to date with the launch of its next-generation technology “KZN,” short for Kaizen (pronounced KY-zen), which means “constant improvement” in Japanese and Korean cultures. The cutting-edge new GameGolf KZN platform supports the company’s reinvigorated vision and reinvestment to maintain its position as the leading GPS stat tracker for golfers and coaches.

“Golfers seeing measurable improvement in key areas of their game can be a great motivator and can get them fired up to play more golf. That’s why I’m excited to be the instruction and coaching lead for GameGolf,” said Chuck. “It’s a large community of improvement-minded golfers who are serious about getting smarter and getting better. I’m excited to help motivate more golfers and coaches to take advantage of the upgrades GameGolf has put into the platform. The technology and user interface upgrades will help raise the level of enjoyment and engagement golfers get out of the game.”

Chuck, a perennial honoree on both GOLF and Golf Digest’s List of Top 50 Coaches in America, is the creator of Tour Striker Golf Academy, one of America’s top golf schools. A former Canadian Tour player and club professional who learned early in life from legendary pros and ball strikers Moe Norman and George Knudson, Chuck’s notable professional students include major winners Darren Clarke and Mike Weir. He has developed numerous successful training aids and video series and has taught more than 1,000 golf academies over the past three decades, helping more than 50,000 people play better golf.

“As a teacher, it’s incredibly valuable to go beyond just seeing a student’s technique and have GameGolf’s data tracking help me find where my students have gaps in their abilities. With GameGolf KZN, I know instantly, right in the user interface, that their driver might be functional, but they almost never hit the green from 150 to 220 yards. It also makes it easier, too, to address the elephants in the room with students who, for example, hit their driver all over the yard. That’s data you can’t hide from. If golfers are going to spend any of their valuable time practicing, they know where the improvement opportunities truly are with GameGolf. That’s powerful,” Chuck says.

With its engaging new platform and user interface, GameGolf KZN provides an engaging, data-centric, and improvement-driven player experience – thanks to significant technology upgrades. Users enjoy unprecedented GPS shot tracking, data collection, stat tracking, and the Smart Caddie app function analyzing 10 key data points to a game-changing level. Coaches can easily log into a player’s Performance Dashboard and analyze important strokes-gained data (Tee-to-Green, Off-the-Tee, Approach the Green, Around-the-Green, Putting) pulled from both leisure and competitive rounds.

“The GPS technology and shot tracking is so advanced,” Chuck says. “After the round, you see how accurate and detailed the shot tracking is and it makes you want to dive in deeper to the parts of your game you want to work on next. As a teacher, I can help students build their game piece-by-piece until they have the skills and put the work in to become a more complete golfer. GameGolf gives us the exact road map to get a couple of shots better as we learn and grow.”

GameGolf Announces Next-Generation KZN Shot-Tracking Platform

Leading GPS shot tracking platform is rebranded with best-in-class technology for high-level game improvement

(Palo Alto, CA) – GAMEGOLF, the game’s leading GPS shot- and stat-tracking sensor platform, announces its most extensive and innovative upgrades to date with the launch of its next-generation technology “KZN,” short for Kaizen (pronounced KY-zen), which means “constant improvement” in Japanese and Korean cultures. The cutting-edge new GameGolf KZN platform supports the company’s reinvigorated vision and reinvestment to maintain its position as the leading GPS stat tracker for golfers and coaches.

GameGolf KZN has launched with updated pricing – the $269.99 price includes the KZN hardware and a free one-year membership (a nearly $120 value) – making KZN the most affordable and technically advanced system in the space while elevating the user experience across the board.

“The release of GameGolf KZN celebrates the complete reimagining and reengineering of golf’s original GPS shot-tracking system, with markedly improved design and technology advancements and a tremendously elevated user experience,” says Joe McKnight, V.P. of Engineering at GameGolf. “Golfers and coaches who enjoy technology in this category are going to be blown away by its responsiveness, accuracy, graphics, gamified modes and deep, robust shot analysis – all designed to dive deeper than ever before into the individual shots and skills they need to shoot lower scores and improve their game faster.”

CUTTING EDGE A.I. AND GPS POWER SUPERB USER EXPERIENCE

With an engaging new platform and user interface, GameGolf KZN provides an immersive, data-centric, and improvement-driven player experience – thanks to significant technology upgrades. Users will enjoy unprecedented GPS shot tracking, data collection and stat tracking.

The first thing golfers will notice is the sleek, compact hardware unit and its high-tech black and metallic look. It clips to the golfer’s belt. Players also attach GameGolf KZN’s 14 lightweight smart tags to their clubs. What elevates these smart tags above all others: They house replaceable batteries that eliminate the need to buy new tags when the batteries deplete.

GameGolf developers have also made dedicated strides to ensure Exceptional Battery Life. The smart tags are powerful and work in concert with a state-of-the-art A.I. Neural Network that provides an incredibly accurate shot tracking system and the first to use the same smart tags for woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters. Any KZN smart tag attaches to any club. Then there is the system’s speed. GameGolf KZN uses an advanced and powerful GPS chip that enables impressively fast GPS shot location uploads – for a highly responsive and seamless user interaction.

GameGolf completely revamped its IT infrastructure, while also adding a new digital User Experience across its Apps and a Performance Dashboard that is more visual, gamified, and highly interactive. Golfers can dive deeper than ever into their data and stats analysis, to help quickly and efficiently improve their game.

ROBUST ANALYTICS FOR FOCUSED GAME IMPROVEMENT

In the Post Round Analysis section, the game is broken into Strokes Gained categories that motivate golfers and allow them to compare elements of their game to others with similar, higher or lower handicaps. The system will also pinpoint and suggest practice areas of a game that will help golfers more quickly reach their desired handicap.

ON-COURSE PLAYING MODES

Taking advantage of the industry’s most accurate shot-tracking platform is as easy as arriving at the course and pressing a button. There's no need to tap an external wearable device. GPS location can be detected in as little as 10 seconds from powering your device at more than 36,000 courses, so you are ready to play golf immediately. GameGolf KZN recognizes the location of the course and is ready to go. It operates in three different modes.

The first playing mode is Offline – simply start playing and the system automatically detects and tracks every shot and yardage by each club, and then automatically uploads the custom data to the companion smartphone app (iOS, Android) or the GameGolf website for review. It’s ideal for people who don't want to bother with their phone on the course. In the second Live mode, golfers use their phone, on which they can see fly-by hole graphics and their live ball position. Shots are instantly recorded, as well. Plus, golfers can play live competitions with friends who are on the course at the same time.

The third mode is the truly advanced Smart Caddie. Previously available as an add-on subscription, it is now included in the standard price. After about six rounds using GameGolf KZN, golfers can have Smart Caddie recommend customized shots and club selection, based on their unique shot tendencies and current playing conditions. It’s genuinely like having a caddie’s knowledge in hand.

Smart Caddie factors in wind, humidity and elevation. And users can choose if they want Smart Caddie to feed them advice based on a Safe, Optimal or Aggressive Strategy. It is designed specifically to create a seamless and unmatched immersive, on-course experience for golfers that leads them to make better playing and practice decisions to lower their scores.

POWERFUL DATA FOR FASTER IMPROVEMENT

For both players and coaches (Individual or Team), the Smart Caddie app analyzes 10 key data points to a game-changing level. Coaches can easily log into a player’s Performance Dashboard and analyze important strokes-gained data (Tee-to-Green, Off-the-Tee, Approach the Green, Around-the-Green, Putting) pulled from both leisure and competitive rounds. For high-school and college golf coaches, this can take overall team improvement to another level. With video and statistical data platforms similar to the technology commonly used by football and basketball coaches today, GameGolf KZN opens up the power of deep-dive, performance-improvement-driven data analytics for golf teams everywhere.

Additional data points the platform provides includes individual scores and averages, GPS rangefinder for more than 36,000 golf courses, individual handicaps, club yardages, and overall shot dispersion. All of this shot data together provides valuable insight on what players need to work on to create strategic practice plans for game improvement.

“Interactivity and social engagement are other incredible ways that GameGolf KZN stands apart," says McKnight. "From real-time, in-round competitions in KZN’s Live Mode to the ability to share shot data with coaches and instructors for optimal game improvement, this system harnesses, aggregates and shares your shot data in ways that will set you on the fast track to better golf and deeper enjoyment of the game.”

SkyGolf Highlights Commitment to SkyCaddie Players with Support at 2023 Senior PGA Championship

(RIDGELAND, MS)
— SkyGolf, maker of SkyCaddie, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, reported that it attended the 2023 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in Frisco, Texas to reinforce its commitment to its loyal SkyCaddie players.

“We’re thrilled that distance measuring devices have been allowed in the Senior PGA Championship for the past couple of years and that we were able to come out to the event this year and support the PGA professionals who use SkyCaddie,” said Jacqui Surman, SkyGolf Senior VP and COO.

“We were able to map the new Fields Ranch East Course in April of 2023, before it officially opened on May 2, 2023,” said Clay Simpson, SkyGolf Logistics and Operations Manager. “This allowed SkyCaddie players to have the most accurate, detailed and reliable information to help them plan every tee and approach shot beyond the limitations of the yardage book.”

Here a few comments from SkyCaddie users playing in the Senior PGA Championship:

“To me, it’s so much better than a yardage book because it’s instant. You don’t have to go backwards and forwards to find sprinklers or the particular points that the yardage book uses. This gives you instant feedback. It’s the best gadget I’ve ever had for helping me get around the golf course."

“It is just so easy to use, especially when you don’t have a direct line to shoot it with a laser.”

“It gives you a lot of information including front, middle and back of greens, all the dangers and also the runouts to bunkers. It provides the distance to carry a bunker on every single shot.”

“I’ve been using the SkyCaddie in practice rounds for 3 ½ years and it has always been spot on. It’s really helpful when the yardage book is a bit too complicated on a lot of occasions.”

“It’s great for my course strategy at the start of the week by helping me make a bit of a plan.”

For more comments by SkyCaddie players at the Senior PGA Championship, please visit our Instagram page at @skycaddiegps.

All SkyCaddie GPS devices are preloaded with over 35,000 best-in-class courses and feature Wi-Fi connectivity to streamline application updates and getting the latest course updates without connecting to a computer.

A SkyCaddie reveals many aspects of a golf hole which are invisible to laser users, who only have line of sight. Unlike other GPS devices, SkyCaddie creates and frequently updates each course map on foot to record thousands of points with sub-meter precision, making it the most accurate GPS device on the market today.

You can find top-rated SkyCaddie models at all leading golf retailers including Edwin Watts, Roger Dunne, PGA Super Store and authorized online retailers such as Play Better Golf. Bloodline Golf Introduces Free New Putter Fitting on Its Website

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.)
– Bloodline Golf is pleased to announce that it is now offering free putter fitting on its website, bloodline.golf.

“One of the most important things you can do for your putting is to make sure your putter is properly fit for you,” said Brad Adams, Bloodline CEO. “The putter you use needs to fit your body type, size, and stroke mechanics. Getting fit will optimize your results with Bloodline by ensuring you are in the same position for every putt.”

“A study on putting showed that the number of putts that were made from 5 feet increased from 5.6 to 6.1 out of 10 when players used a putter that was correctly fit,” added Adams.

Bloodline offers three fitting methods for golfers to choose from whenever they are ready. Each method is currently free so it’s easy to get started on the path to becoming a better putter. Here is a quick breakdown of each method.

The Premium method requires that you have a tripod or a friend that can take a video of you setting up and taking a couple of strokes with your putter. You can email the video to Bloodline, and they will use JC Video software analysis and technology to make a recommendation for a putter that will fit you perfectly.

The DIY Custom Fitting method requires a tape measure and the ability to edit a picture on a smartphone. Directions on how to do this are included on the Bloodline website.

For the Starting Point method, Bloodline has put together a chart based on thousands of putter fittings that is very effective at predicting the starting point that will fit you. For many players, starting with just your height is extremely predictive of what specs will be a likely fit.

Golf Simulators Gain Popularity in Residential and Commercial Spaces

(Toledo, OH)
– Playing indoor golf is one of the hottest trends in the golf industry. A recent report by Straits Research valued the golf simulator market at $1.3 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $3.3 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 10.1%. Golf Simulators are not just for commercial businesses or the rich and famous. The simulator space has been dramatically expanding and becoming more affordable in the last ten years.

Indoor multi-sport and golf simulator commercial play is booming. Food and entertainment businesses like Topgolf Swing Suite, X-Golf, and 5-Iron Golf have seen remarkable growth, with Topgolf indoor suites growing from 29 stores in 2019 to 120 plus locations. The development of indoor golf is not limited to commercial businesses. Recent technology advances in launch monitors have made home golf simulators more reliable and affordable, driving growth in residential installations as well.

One company, Ace Indoor Golf, a leading golf simulator manufacturer and retailer in the United States, grew its business by more than 50% last year due to the popularity of home golf simulators. The company designs, sells, installs, and provides maintenance of golf simulators to businesses, golf clubs, individuals, golf teams, sim manufacturers, and the prominent golf retailers like PGA Tour Superstores and 5-Iron Golf. The company offers turnkey custom-designed solutions and “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY), off-the-shelf packages that fit golfers’ needs at every price point.

Trevor Faust, Ace Indoor Golf’s president, has some excellent advice for golfers looking to put a simulator in their home. “For the DIYer, take your time, do the necessary research, and ask a lot of questions to be sure all of your components will work together correctly. The launch monitor, computer, hitting bay, projector, and screen must work together to provide a safe and enjoyable golf experience. Last, if your skills aren’t in building and technology, I’d suggest hiring a professional installer to prevent mistakes in your simulator setup that can cost you thousands of dollars.”

The combination of consumer demand, affordability, and technological improvements has made simulator golf more popular than ever. Are you looking to install a residential or commercial golf simulator? Ace Indoor Golf offers a variety of options and brands to accommodate every need. For more information, visit aceindoorgolf.com or call (888) 517-3398.
