Club Car Turf Utility Vehicles Set to Play Critical Role During the 2018 Ryder Cup

More than 500 Club Car vehicles will be on Premise

(RELEASE) - A fleet of turf utility vehicles from Club Car, a world-leading manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles, and brand of Ingersoll Rand, will drive the logistical operation at The 2018 Ryder Cup.

Club Car is providing more than 40 turf utility vehicles to support a team of 180 greenkeepers at Le Golf National, Paris, ensuring they navigate the course quickly and efficiently during the week.

Alejandro Reyes, course manager at Le Golf National, said: “Club Car turf utility vehicles will play a vitally important role as we move our vast team of greens-keepers around the Albatros course before play begins each morning.

“The Carryall 500 vehicles will transport greenkeepers, as well as tow the pedestrian mower and rollers, while the 4-seat Transporter vehicles will be used by the bunker crews.

“The Carryall 700 vehicles will play a crucial support role in the daily preparation of the golf course, being used to collect fairway and green grass clippings from each daily cut, prior to play.”

In addition to assisting green-keeping staff, an extra 30 Club Car turf utility vehicles will be used during Ryder Cup week to provide crucial operational support to staff and volunteers involved in the staging of the event; this includes moving approximately 25km of rope around the course to cordon off the fairways.

The turf utility vehicle fleet will also transport approximately 600km of television cabling used by more than 376 media outlets to broadcast the event – one of the world’s largest sporting occasions – to more than 183 countries worldwide.

“Club Car has been the vehicle supplier of every Ryder Cup since 1997. Our proven track record demonstrates that Ryder Cup Europe can put its trust in us to drive the on-course logistics required at Le Golf National and help deliver golf’s greatest team event,” commented Kevin Hart, sales director Golf for Club Car Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As in previous editions, Club Car is also providing a fleet of more than 450 golf cars for the prestigious event, which includes 14 unique team vehicles, bedecked with the iconic patriotic branding for European Captain Thomas Bjørn, U.S. Captain Jim Furyk and their vice-captains.
