Operation Support Military Golf Joins Web.com TOUR Championship on Military Appreciation Day

Non-Profit Organization, Global Marketing Company Continue Collaboration to Help Past and Present Service Members and their Families through ‘Reviving the Golf Courses that Revitalize Our Heroes’

(ATLANTIC BEACH, Florida) – Operation Support Military Golf (OSMG) – the non-profit organization that exists to enhance service members' and their families’ morale, welfare, and recreation by upgrading non-appropriated military golf courses and associated facilities at bases worldwide – today announced that it will participate on Military Appreciation Day (Saturday, Sept. 22) during Web.com’s Tour Championship week.

Held at Atlantic Beach Country Club in Atlantic Beach, Fla., Sept. 17-23, Web.com’s Tour Championship is the season-ending event that will help determine which players earn one of 50 available PGA TOUR cards. The PGA TOUR’s umbrella partner, Web.com is the marketing partner for businesses worldwide wanting to connect with more customers and grow.

Web.com sponsors PGA TOUR member Jim Furyk and builds websites and marketing campaigns for some of the world's most successful professional golfers.

“Web.com’s invaluable support helps OSMG further our mission of ‘Reviving the Golf Course that Revitalize Our Heroes’,” said OSMG Founder Jennifer Poth.  “Our Web.com designed website. www.operationsupportmilitarygolf.org, and spreading our message at the Web.com Tour Championship are awesome opportunities that Web.com has presented us.”

"Working with OSMG is a labor of love and a win-win for us on multiple levels,” said David L. Brown, Web.com's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, who grew up playing on a military base course and understands the many benefits these facilities provide our service members and their families. "We’re honored to lend our expertise in online marketing and extend support to our servicemen and servicewomen in a recreational activity we care about deeply."

Other organizations partnering with OSMG include American Society of Golf Course Architects (www.asgca.org), Arnold Palmer Design Company (www.arnoldpalmerdesign.com), Golf Course Builders Association of America (www.gcbaa.org), Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (www.gcsaa.org), Sanford Golf Design (www.sanfordgolfdesign.com), and Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation (www.wadsworthgolffoundation.com).

“In-kind services are invaluable and crucial to our success, and these organizations have answered the call in honorable fashion,” said Poth. “It is our hope that these generous contributions will inspire those outside the golf arena to contribute financially to help us to complete all aspects of military golf upgrades.”

As a groundbreaking, global, military supportive, 501(c)(3) non-profit, OSMG's goal is to provide a $1 million infusion to each military golf facility. Helping increase accessibility for our wounded and aging veterans, reducing golf facilities maintenance costs through modernized equipment, and increasing overall visual enjoyment are just some of the specific benefits from the upgrades.

OSMG was created to serve those who have, do and will serve our nation by ensuring their Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is not forgotten. Positive MWR is an integral component in the well-being and quality of life of our service members and their families.
